Jake's P.O.V.
"Jake..." she moaned
I drew away from her for a few seconds then my lips were crashing onto hers again.
Her hands were in my hair and both of my hands were pushed up against the wall, almost engulfing her so that she couldn't escape.
"No Jake!" she pulled away frowning at me
"What?" I asked
"Jake I can't do this!"
"What? Why?" I was so confused
"I'm with Nate now. It's only Nate for me. Jake we're just friends and nothing more. Not now, not ever."
"But Cherri... I told you I'd always be here for you. You can't go with him! His dad could hurt you, like he hurt your mom. I'll take care of you, I promise, I'll look after you. We don't have to be just friends anymore..."
"Jake, no!" she attempted to pull away from me, but I yanked her backwards. She was mine.
"No Cherri! You can't leave!"
"It's too late Jake. It's too late..."
"Jake! Jake! Jake, wake up sweetie! You're having a bad dream!"
I opened my eyes and sighed. Sh*t that was a scary dream!
And I knew in that moment that my worst fear would be losing her. Losing her to someone else.
Mom was looking down at me and smiling sympathetically, wiping a bead of sweat from my forehead.
She leant over and kissed my forehead and my cheek.
"Mom!" I wiped her kiss away from my cheek, embarrassed.
"Alright, alright. I forgot you're a big boy now; you don't need Mom looking over your shoulder right? Well excuse me for caring. Don't you have that spring beach trip with Cherri and the other kids from school today?"
"Shoot!" I jumped up out of bed and ran into the shower.
"Breakfast is waiting on the table Jakey!" Mom shouted.
I quickly jumped out of the shower after rinsing and dried myself off with a towel.
I hurriedly put on my clothes. I was going to be so late. I rammed my toothbrush into my mouth and brushed furiously, spitting it all out in one go and rinsing my mouth.
I'd go casual today. White t-shirt, dark jeans, leather jacket, sunglasses for the beach.
I shoved some beach shorts and suntan lotion into my Nike bag, along with some clothes just in case we stayed overnight and ran downstairs to the kitchen.
My little brother Chase was singing some kind of song and dancing around the kitchen stuffing sweets into his mouth whilst Mom was trying to feed him cereal.
I grabbed a piece of toast off the table.
"Thanks Mom... we might be staying overnight perhaps in a hotel or at Arron's house for the night. I'll call you yeah? Good okay, bye Mom."
"Jakey!" Mom shouted, "Could you do me a massive favour and drop Chase off to school please?"
I groaned, "Mom! I'm already late! I have to be at Cherri's in 10 minutes!"
"Pretty please Jakey, I'm so late for work...."
I rolled my eyes and grabbed Chase's hand, "Fine! But you owe me big time Mom!"
I dragged the whining Chase into my car and locked the door
"Jake! I want Skittles!" he moaned
"Look Chase buddy, I don't have time right now but I promise I'll buy you a huge bag of Skittles when I'm out with Cherri okay?"
Chase grinned, "Jake do you like Cherri?"
I nodded, "Of course I like Cherri. Cherri's our friend."
"Jake loves Cherri! Jake loves Cherri!" he chanted, sticking out his tongue
"Shhh! Be quiet Chase, look we're at school now. Time to go play, yeah?"
"Bye Jake! Say hello to Cherri for me!" Chase opened the door and ran towards the school gates.
Well that was easy enough. Now just to drive to Cherri's. I'd pick her up and meet the rest of them at the beach. So far, attending was Cherri, Casey, Arron, Justin, Connor, Kate, that idiot Nate and myself.
Nate had better not piss me off today. I'd had a few run-ins with him in the past but patched it up for the sake of him and Cherri's fake relationship. Thank God he was leaving early today.
It would give me some extra time to spend with my girl. Just the thought of her in a bikini had my mouth watering and my jeans getting tighter. She was all mine and I couldn't wait until I didn't have to share her anymore.
I couldn't let him know that Cherri was mine, even though I was longing to, just to rub it in his smug little face. Parade around and show the world that I had the most beautiful girlfriend ever. Nate that little b***h, didn't even know a thing. I wanted to tell him so badly, just to see his damn face. Smug b*****d.
I could hardly contain my excitement...
