Jake's P.O.V.

"Time to hit the beach house!" Casey smiled, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder with a flourish, and clapping her hands.

Mere hours previously, we had made a fire on the beach out of discarded twigs, and used Connor's lighter to start it. It was safe to say, that if we had been cavemen instead of high schoolers, we probably would've died a long time ago.

I spent most of the time holding my guitar, plucking softly at the strings in an attempt to create some sort of ambiance. The others sang fireside songs in an awful, karaoke pitch.

“Beach house? We have a beach house?” Cherri asked, perplexed.

Cherri and I had been convinced that we'd probably either drive back home, or shack up in some motel for the night.

“Oh yeah! I, like, totally forgot to tell you and Jake! My uncle owns a beach house just along the way and he’s let us have it for the entire weekend!”

It took us a few minutes to pack up all of our stuff, snuff out the fire, and soon enough we were walking up towards and along the street.

“It’s about 500 yards down the road...Look, it's that one."

Casey pointed towards a beautiful, modern house along the seafront which looked like something out of a James Bond film, all white and chrome and high-tech feel. It was perfect, looking more than suitable to house us misfits for the weekend, and an ideal walk to the beach.

I smiled, opening the door of my car, “Come on then. All seven of us will be able to squeeze in. Somehow, at least."

Cherri, Casey, Arron, Justin, Connor, Kate and myself all squished into the car. Casey and Cherri in the front passenger seat, Connor, Arron and Justin squeezed into the back, and Kate lying across their laps.

I placed my guitar into the boot and got into the car, revving the engine and driving off down the street.

“There!” Casey pointed, “There it is!”

Even bigger than I originally thought, the beach house was all contemporary with glass fronts, and about 100 yards back from the road.

“Wow...” Kate marvelled, sitting up, her eyes widening, “That is, like, totally amazing!”

Parking the car in the designated spot, I cut the engine and the doors flew open, everyone clambering out and running toward the house.

I followed in hot pursuit, slamming the door after we all got in.

“Bedrooms! Everybody run!”

Cherri and I were left standing there in shock as the rest of them ran up the stairs, scattering in different directions.

I quickly grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her upstairs.

Casey was waiting at the top, hands on hips and giggling her ass off.

“You guys are too late!” she laughed, “All the rooms are taken. Except one of course. But that’s a double bed...”

She showed us into the grand room. Double posted bed, large chaise longue by the window...
