Yuri's POV
"Okay, that was all for today. Class dismiss..."
I hurriedly grabbed my things and said my goodbye to Veronica without looking at her.
Mabibilis ang hakbang ng mga paa ko patungo sa gate ng school. Then, someone grabbed my arm and I refrained walking.
I heave a heavy sigh and turn my head to the owner of the hand which stopping me.
"Yuri."
I rolled my eyes. That voice.
"Dwaine."
He let out a tired smile and removed his hand on my arm. "We need to talk."
I took a glance at my wrist watch and threw him with a bored look. "About what?"
"About us."
Completely taken aback, I took a step away from him. "Walang tayo... Kaya walang dapat pag-usapan."
"Subukan mo lang kumawala sa akin. I won't let you go," he firmly said.
A plan to escape from him; that's what I needed right now. Hindi ko na kayang harapin pa si Dwaine.
"Aalis na ako–"
"Yuri? Dwaine?"
Tristan saved me! I should thank him later.
"Hi, Tristan!" I faked a smile.
"Tristan," Dwaine scoffed.
"Anong mayroon sa 'yo?" Tristan was pertaining to Dwaine. "You look angry."
"I'm going..." He threw the words with finality. Tapos lumapit siya sa akin at bumulong, "6 PM, your street's playground..."
Kumunot ang noo ko. Hindi ako pupunta.
I quietly shook my head, indicating that I wouldn't go.
"Yuri, please..." he pleaded and a sigh escaped from my lips.
Tumakbo siya pabalik ng school at naiwan kaming dalawa ni Tristan.
"Let me walk you to your house," Tristan broke the ice and somehow, it made me smile.
I just nodded in response and we both took some steps.
In my peripheral vision, I noticed that he kept on giving glances at me. Then, he gave me a sympathetic look but I pretended not to notice him and just walk.
"Gusto mo mag-ice cream?" He asked.
"Sure thing!" I answered, feigning jolly. "Saan ba? Ah! Sa Twice's?"
"Sa wakas, ngumiti ka rin."
"Naman. Ang ganda ko kaya kapag ngumingiti sabi ni D–"
"You know what?"
"Hm?"
"Ang ganda mo lalo kapag ngumingiti."
Oops.
Stop thinking about him, Yuri! I shook my head to subside my thoughts.
Ginulo ni Tristan ang buhok ko. "That's one of the reason why I like you."
Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya para pigilan siya sa ginagawa niya. Suddenly, he stiffened as I held his hand.
"Ah..."
