"I don't think Kol knows I used magic to stake him, so our magic is most likely safe on that side," I said as we got back to the dorm room, making sure to lock the door when we got inside."And the Halloween Breakfast Club is also in the dark about what happened that night, so we just need to avoid both parties as much as possible," AJ said. I sat on my bed and she sat on hers, we were both quiet for a while.
"You didn't get the same vision I did tonight...about Bonnie and the other girl - Liv - doing a spell," she stated. I shook my head.
"That's not good," she said slowly.
---
We spent the next few days realizing our powers were slowly diminishing; the more we tried to see into the future the more strenuous it became. Wracked with fear, we called our brother.
"I was afraid of this," he said over the phone. "The same thing happened to me when I left the coven, but I was always too embarrassed to tell anyone cause I thought I was just weak," he explained.
"So we're going to keep getting weaker until we lose our magic?" AJ asked panicked.
"Yeah because I'm powerless right now," Cody answered sarcastically, I rolled my eyes.
"You turn your back on them and they do the same to you, you won't be half as strong as before unless you choose to go back to the coven," he said hopefully.
"It's cool thanks, we'll pass," I replied curtly, hanging up the phone.
It was then that we both agreed it would be more helpful to stay out of the drama until we knew we wouldn't mess up as badly as everyone else tended to when they tried to help. But that didn't solve the Kol problem.
---
I always loved morning showers, especially the feeling of warm water down my back. This morning was no different.
I hadn't seen Kol since the Bitter Ball and the Mystic Falls gang had done nothing to interfere with our lives.
Granted, they had no clue that we were witches nor that we knew every detail of all that had happened to them in the last few months. Minor details.
Nevertheless, life was good.
I smiled to myself as I wrapped a towel around my body before leaving the bathroom.
I came to a stop when I saw Kol Mikaelson sitting on my bed, looking hungrily at me.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I shouted and held onto my towel tightly to keep it secure.
He didn't answer, instead he got up and walked purposefully towards me, lust apparent on his face. I took a step back as he approached but he was in front of me before I could fully process how fast he had moved.
"Kol-" I started, but was interrupted by him taking my face in his hands and kissing me roughly, our lips moving together as his hands wandered down my body. I didn't even think about kissing him back. I had no control over myself as he pushed me against the bedroom wall.
I raked my nails down his back and gasped as his lips moved to my neck, anticipation filling me.
But then I woke up.
I gasped at the intensity of the dream, feeling my cheeks flush. I didn't even know the guy and I was having dreams like that about him.
I looked around my room, noticing AJ had already left for class. I slowly got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom, trying to calm myself down.
I decided with great determination not to rush myself and instead take a real shower to wake me up. I even tried out my new shampoo to distract myself.
I wrapped a towel around my body and brushed my teeth before running my fingers through my hair to untangle it.
"I definitely like this new shampoo," I muttered to myself as I walked into my room, inspecting a few strands of hair.
"I definitely like this entire look," a voice said.
I whipped my head up and saw a smirking Kol standing near the window, and all of a sudden I struggled to find my breath.
"Surprised to see me? I thought you would be eager to recreate your dream," he smirked as he walked closer.
"You got into my head!" I accused angrily, realization dawning on me.
"I did, and I'll definitely have to be doing that more often...it was quite fun," he winked at me, I scowled.
"How did you get in here? Nobody invited you in," I spat at him.
"This isn't a private residence, I can come and go as I please, Darling," he said. "It certainly makes finding out more about you easier," he continued.
"I'm human, that's all you need to know," I hissed and he shook his head.
"I don't believe that, no human could best me," he rolled his eyes.
"Oh really? You think that highly of yourself?" I let out a chuckle and he glared at me.
In the blink of an eye he was right in front of me and I felt my back hit the wall behind me. He put his hands on either side of my head.
"It's not me thinking highly of myself, Darling, it's a simple fact...you would do well to remember that," he breathed. I looked up at him and nodded. I felt my heart beating faster than I remember it ever beating before.
He smirked at me again and pushed himself off the wall.
"I really did just stop by to say hello, so I'll be going now...unless there's something else you would want to do that would require me staying," he chuckled lowly.
"Leave right now," I hissed.
And he did. I blinked and he was gone, leaving me alone in the empty room. I dove for the phone and called AJ.
"You need to get over here right away," I said in a rush.
---
When AJ got to the room I told her what had happened, keeping a few details to myself.
It was obvious he wasn't going to let up on his little revenge mission, and I doubted we could handle him on our own.
"I hate to say it, but the gang is our best shot, if we get them on our side we automatically get an extra wall of protection," I sighed.
"What's your plan exactly? We can't tell them what we are, our coven would kill us for revealing the secret," she said.
"So we'll tell them we're something else....our father could have been a vampire hunter? And now we want to rid the world of all evil supernatural beings?" I offered, but AJ just rolled her eyes.
"As long as we're on their side they'll help us," I tried to convince her, I didn't want to say it outright but I was terrified of what Kol would do to me. He was a killer and it was obvious he was jusy playing with his meal at the moment.
"AJ, you don't get it ok, chances are he won't kill you, but he has a score to settle with me and unless we get help he's going to settle it," I whispered, trying one last time to get her to see where I was coming from.
I begged her with my eyes and she frowned, concern filling her eyes.
She nodded.
