"Musty old Mystic Falls," I muttered as we drove past the town sign.We hadn't been back here in years - we had very few holidays, and when we did we usually stayed with cousins until the time came to resume our own little magical hell...you'd think once you tell them you have no interest in being part of the coven, the elders would leave you alone. They don't.
"I wonder if anything has changed, like if the town has gotten slightly less boring," AJ mused as we drove, looking at the white picket fence houses that made up the streets.
"Doubt it, now let's just find this 'Mystic Grill' Cody told us to meet him at," I laughed and put my sunglasses on.

We arrived and entered the bar, and upon scanning it for our brother we found him and sat down.
"Hey there big bro," I said. He looked up, shocked.
"Oh don't look so surprised, you didn't expect us to still look like 12 year olds did you?" I teased.
"Well that is the last time I saw you both," he chuckled for a second before biting his lip and looking down again.
A cute blonde bartender with blue eyes walked up and AJ flashed him a smile.
"Hey there...Matt," she said reading his nametag and batting her eyelashes flirtatiously.
"Three sodas," Cody grunted before Matt could reply, I scoffed at his stereotypical older brother protectiveness as Matt walked away to fetch our order.
Things got quiet between us until Matt brought our drinks, it seemed like Cody was trying to find a way to say something.
"You shouldn't have come here," he said after a long silence.
"Why not?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. I noticed his glance flick to the corner of the bar and I looked over to see a very attractive man with messy brown hair and a sour expression on his face, looking at nothing in particular.
As if he could feel my gaze on him he suddenly looked up at me and I quickly turned my head, embarrassed to have been caught staring.
"Have either of you bothered to look into the towns current events since you've been here?" Cody hissed.
"In the 5 seconds we've been here? No Cody, take the hostility down a notch," I retorted. He suddenly got a sad look on his face.
"I want you to promise me that no matter what, you won't get involved in any town drama...I won't lose you two," he added the last part as an afterthought. AJ and I looked at each other, he seemed desperate for us to agree, so we nodded.
"Come on, I want to get home," he said, leaving his half finished drink and some money behind on the table.
I turned one last time to look at the guy in the corner, but he was gone.
