28. Getting Up, Lookin' Good, and Other Fish In The Sea

You know my story and how I came to staying in a dark room for a week.

That night, I remember crying myself to sleep on the bathroom floor and waking up in my bed the next morning. There was a sleepy Luke laying on a pile of blankets and pillows on the floor.

I didn't want to move.

I felt a slight headache coming on, but I still sit their and revel in the pain. Maybe it will take the pain of Ash- Him, away from me.

Maybe I should start drinking.

Or smoking.

Or starve myself.

No. None of that's good for me.

I shouldn't cause myself more pain.

So it's been one week exactly.

Luckily the Year 12's or seniors, didn't have to come in this week, so I could stay in bed and not face the world. I also took off from work and told them I had a server cold and probably didn't want me serving coffee and helping customers.

I could hear Ali singing the Go-Go Dolls in the background.

What could she be so happy about?

I heard her singing get closer and closer, immediately knowing she was coming to me.

No more then ten seconds later she burst thru my door, me quickly turning to face the wall.

"Miaaaaaa." I felt my bed dip down. "Come on Mia!" She starts shaking me, starting to pull off my covers.

"Argh!" I groan.

"Mia! It's important!" She starts bouncing on my bed.

That's it. She needs to leave. I involuntarily pull back my covers and look up at her.

"M-Mia. Oh my gosh. You look horrible!"

"Geez thanks Ali. You think I don't know that?"

"Ay Mia! Don't get your knickers in a twist." I roll my eyes.

"What do you want Ali?"

"Well, first you absolutely stink. When was the last time you took a show-."

"Ali-."

"All right! All right! I have a plan." I motioned for her to continue.

"Well, I absolutely hate seeing you like this. I really do. So the boys and I have come up with a plan to help spruce you up and bring you back out to the market." I nodded.

"There's this huge like party. It's a house party, but some of the boys are playing live. It's like their first gig. And they want us to come. The only thing is, each boy needs a date. Michael and Calum have one, one being me, obviously. But Luke needs one. Oh and don't worry He won't be there. So what do you say?" I sat there and let it sink in.

Should I go?

Hell! Why not?

"Sure."

Ali quickly threw me in the shower and made me wash my hair and body.

As soon as I got out she plopped me down, still in my towel and started working at my rats nest, known as hair.
