Book 3 rotbtd: Journey to Corona

Chapter 2

They were up in the air. Merida was doing pretty well with flying Toothless. She had to put on the foot gear so her foot could control the gear. Hiccup had taught her well.

'She' s doing pretty well' Hiccup thought although he kept having to remind her to slow down once in awhile.

"You guys fly so slooooowww." Jack called out.

"It's not my fault, Hiccup's the one telling me to slow down everyone I go more than 15 miles per hour." Merida shouted back.

"Well we'll never get to Corona at that rate. I bet your dragon just can't keep up with my wind." Jack smirked challenging them.

"Ha! This dragon could fly circles around you!" Merida said.

"Is that a challenge?" Jack asked.

"Merida no...."

"Oh bring it on. Toothless go!!" Merida shouted.

Toothless took the command and started going full speed into the air.

"Merida slow down! We're heading through fog!" Hiccup insisted but Merida couldn't hear him.

"Now that's more like it!" Jack said racing them while holding Rapunzel who seemed to be getting a little air sick.

"Whose the fastest now!" Merida laughed.

"Merida! Tree!" Hiccup yelled.

"Oh crap!" Merida quickly turned gears. They missed the tree but the sharp turn caused them to crash to the ground.

"Uh oh." Jack said flying down.

He put Rapunzel down "guys are you alright?" She asked.

There was still silence. The two began to worry until they heard a male yell.

"You are never driving him again!" Hiccup yelled.

"Stop being so dramatic I landed him didn't I? No one got hurt." Merida yelled back.

Rapunzel and Jack went over to the clearing and saw the couple fighting about the crash.

"Thank goodness you two are alright." Rapunzel said.

"Yeah we're glad you guys are okay and I won the race."

"Jack......" Rapunzel said looking at him.

"Fine! I'm sorry I challenged you to racing." Jack said.

"But I still won." He muttered.

"Well we better get back up." Rapunzel said.

"Well that would be great except we have a problem." Merida said.

"Well......" Jack said.

"You see when Merida crashed Toothless and almost got us killed! The part of the .saddle broke and he can't fly with out his gears and saddle." Hiccup said.

"Well that is a problem." Jack said. "Well I guess we're on our own Punze it was nice meeting you two."

"Jack!" Rapunzel said in disbelief,

"I was kidding! Where are we right now."

Hiccup took out his map "I believe we're in the Arendelle forest, there's a kingdom outside the forests but it will take at least a two day journey on foot, but once we get there I can get some supplies to fix the saddle."

"Okay well lets make camp here for tonight." Jack said.

"Ooh it'll be like a camping trip!!" Rapunzel said excitedly jumping causing the ground to shake.

"Woah Rapunzel! Careful." Jack said.

"Wow I didn't know I could control Earth too!!" She said.

"Well you are the guardian of Spring." He said.

"This is awesome!" She said.

"Now Hiccup and I will set up camp." Jack said. "You two try to find some food and collect wood."

The girls went off into the forest looking for supplies while the guys started clearing the site.

"So I've been wondering how in the world did you get a dragon." Jack said scooping up some leaves.

"Well where I come from Berk, we all ride dragons. I was the first to ever tame one and ride one. Before that we used to fight them."

"Woah no way! I go to Berk a lot! Not really the village though I usually just go there to see tease the wild dragons with my powers." Jack said

"I'm surprised most people, especially someone whose all about winter, wouldn't go near something that breathes fire." Hiccup said.

"Well I enjoy a challenge." Jack replied with a smirk.

But Hiccup saw something else in Jack he wasn't quite sure of, but he played it off.

"Yeah I can see that. Thanks to that little race." Hiccup laughed.

"I am sorry about causing you to crash your dragon, don't blame your girlfriend too much she seems like the type of person you wouldn't want to get into a fight with."

"Well you're right about that. He'll she even fought when she didn't talk!"

"Wait what? She didn't use to speak?" Jack asked confused.

"I found her on the shores of our island injured and freezing. She woke up and refused to talk or mention her name. She wrote what ever was on her mind."

"Why'd she do that?"

"She was scared she had just escaped a slave ship and didn't know if she could trust us and she was in an unknown land and her accent is a dead give away. Then when she did start trusting. She actually couldn't physically talk. Until we were trying to rescue her again from her captures she yelled out my name when she saw the leader about to hit me with his mallet."

"No way!" Jack said amazed.

"Yup. We ended up getting her back and bringing her home but by then I was crazy about her. And her family allowed me to take her around the world with me and here we are."

"That's pretty cool." Jack said.

Meanwhile.....

"Hey I caught a fish over here!" Merida said.

"Oh my god! Put them back in the water! He's suffocating!" Rapunzel said quickly as she covered her ears so she couldn't hear the fishes begging for their lives.

"Sorry... Forgot about the can hear animals thing." Merida said putting the fish back into the stream.

"No it's alright it's my fault I just cost Toothless dinner." Rapunzel said.

"Nah I'm sure will find something else and if we don't I'll catch some later when your bit around so you won't hear em." She said.

"Uh thanks.....I think."

"So Jack told me about your story how you were in a tower for 18 years.... didn't you ever sneak out?"

"Nope."

"Why not? If I were you I'd be trying to sneak out every chance I get."

"Well.....I was afraid of the outside world. Moth- Gothel told me all these scary things about the outside world and how people would try to cut my hair and use me when all this time she was the one I should've been scared of."

"Hmm how are you feeling about seeing your birth parents."

"Excited......and terrified what if they don't believe me? What if they don't like me?" She asked.

"Are you kidding they'll love you! You're their kid of course they'll believe you."

"Then what?" She said

"Then you get to live your immortal life to the fullest I guess. Hey I found some blackberries. Lets gather these up and take em back to camp." Merida said.
