Mistake

Chapter 17

Ezra's POV

It's Friday. Aria hasn't been in school since Monday. Since we talked about that song. Since it was our anniversary. Her friends took her homework and said that they'll give it to her. They would always do that. I just want to make sure she got it so I'll stop by her house now

I came in front of her house. I grabbed some papers.​ Just in case someone from her family opens the door. I walked out and came in front of her door. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. Seconds felt like hours. Someone finally opened the door. It was Mike. Aria's brother

"Hey Mr Fitz. What are you doing here?" He said. I'm teaching him too. This is so weird

"Hi. Is your sister at home? She wasn't in school the last few days and I just wanted to know is she okay." I said

"Are you worry about all your students like this or just the one you shared the bed with?" Mike asked and I didn't know what to say. I didn't expect this from him

"Who's at the door?" Aria's mom yelled from the house

"No one. Someone hit the wrong house." Mike said louder and closed the door. I turned around and went back in my car. I drove back at my friend's place

"Hey buddy. How was work?" Toby asked

"It was good. Until I tried to reach Aria." I said with a sad face

"Aria? Why would you try to reach her? I thought you said that she has a boyfriend." Toby said

"She does but I need to talk to her. I need to see her. You don't understand." I said and sat next to him on the couch "Why aren't you on college?" I added trying to change the subject

"I took the day off. Not feeling very good." He said and I chuckled

"I told you to not drink during the school days. Been there. Tried that." I said and we laughed.

Toby is the guy I know since I was a kid. His mom and my mom were friends before his mom died. We lost touch and didn't talked in years but now when I came here. He's the only guy I know and I asked him to stay with him. He accepted me and now we're here. Talking about our past and the days we spent apart

The night came. I couldn't get over of what happened at Aria's place. I mean how can Mike say stuff like that. I thought he was a good boy. At least he pretends that he is. Hours passed and I was just turning and tossing in my bed. I couldn't sleep. I got up and decided to take a walk. A little fresh air will be good for me. I walked and walked thinking about Aria. It looked like hours passed while it was only minutes. The city was beautiful at night. All the street lights were on. It feels magical. While I was looking around I bumped into​ someone

"Sorry." A familiar girls voice said

"Aria?" I asked turning around to see the person I bumped into. She turned around

"Ezra?" She said with a questioning look. I couldn't help but smile

"What are you doing here? It's late." I asked

"You know... One of my famous night walks. What about you?" She replied. This is surprising. She still talks with me. I thought that you would kill me or do something like that

"I couldn't sleep so I thought that maybe after the walk I will." I said. She smiled again. We stayed in silence for a while

"Listen Ezra I'm sorry about what happened on Monday. It's just... I'm having a hard time trying to get over you. I'm​ pretending that I'm okay with it and I'm not. It's hard to see you when I know that that's all​I'm going to get. I want to blame you for all of this but I can't. It's my fault too." Aria said

"Do you want to go on some place maybe? Just so we can talk about this.." I asked afraid of what the answer might be

"I would love that. I actually know the place." She said

"That's good. When I tried to come and reach you Mike practically kicked me out." I said. She stopped walking

"You were looking for me?" She asked

"This afternoon... Mike didn't told you?" I asked

"No. What did he say to you?" She asked. I can't tell her what he really said. She would kill him if she knew

"Nothing much. Let's just forget about this."

"No we won't forget about this. What did he told you?" Aria asked. I have to tell her the truth.

"He didn't said anything. He asked me am I visiting all my students when they aren't in school or just the ones I shared the bed with." I said. You could see in her eyes that she get mad

"I will..."

"You won't do anything. You'll just make more troubles. It's okay. Don't worry about it." I interrupted her. She just stayed quiet and we kept walking

"That song was about you." She said. She looked in me "I wrote it when you left to see your mom. Back on Iceland." She added

"In that case you'll have your performance on celebration of 20 years of Rosewood highschool." I said

"No. Ezra don't." She said. I chuckled. We kept walking and it was getting colder outside. I noticed that Aria had only long sleeves shirt and she must be cold. I took off my jacket and put it on her shoulders

"It's getting colder. Take it." I said. She blushed

"Thank you." She whispered. We were still walking. Who knows where is she taking me. It's so far away. Well now I can think about what to tell her when we reach that place
