I sat next to Trey on the couch in the den, watching him do his math homework. He finished the last problem and handed passed the paper to me. I looked over it with him staring as he waited for my response.

"Sooooo" He said trying to pry an answer out of me.

"6 and 14" I simply stated handing him back the paper.

He looked at the problems, redid them, and showed me the problems. I studied his answers and a small smirk appeared on my face.

"You've gotten so good at this," I said handing him back his homework and he put it in his book bag.

"I got a great teacher," he said inching closer to me, "She's smart, beautiful, sweet," he was now centimeters away.

"I didn't know you felt that way," He smirked, "about Mrs.Halloway. You know she's married right?" He straight faced me.

"HaHa very funny," he said and I giggled a little, "I'm talking about you girl." He looked me in the eyes. I quickly looked down trying to hide the redness in my cheeks. "Don't hide from me, " he lifted my chin and we paused for a second before he leaned in. I started to lean in too but I hesitated. "What's wrong?" A worried look washed across his face. I sighed and looked at my hands.

"Nothing..." I said shyly.

"Is this about Anyae?" He questioned raising his eyebrows. I guess my silence answered for me. He sighed and gently grabbed my hand. "Forget her. All I want is you."

"But she's technically still your girlfriend." I said.

"She doesn't have to be. I'll breakup with her for you in a heartbeat. Just say the word," he tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. I looked up at him.

"Trey, I'm not gonna tell you to break up with your girlfriend," I paused for a second and cleared my throat, "plus, she's pregnant with your child. " I stood up to leave. I took my charger out of the outlet and threw it in my bag with my phone still attached. Trey stood up too.

"Let me walk you out," He mumbled just loud enough for me to hear. I just nodded my head in response. We left the room and made our way to the front door, passing the living room where his brother was asleep sitting up on the couch. He had a girl straddling him with her face in the crook of his neck. I guess she was sleep too. We got to the front door and Trey opened it for me.

"I think I got it from here, thanks for the food," I said. I gave him a small hug before I put my purse up on my shoulder and began to step out the door.

"Wait," He blurted. I stopped and gave him my undivided attention. "Look....I really like you and I know you like me back. I can tell by the way you blush when I compliment you, just admit it. We could be-" He said.

"Look Trey," I sighed, "I really appreciate it. I really do, but we can't be together. I don't know if this has registered in your mind yet, but your girlfriend is pregnant with your child, they should be your main focus. I'll still come tutor you but we've got to stop all this." I motioned in between us, "I'm sorry but it's for the best. Our next study session is Tuesday after school, right?" He slightly nodded. His face read hurt and disappointment. "I'm sorry," I whispered as I reached up a caressed his cheek. He slightly pull away, so I pulled my hand away. After a few more seconds of eye contact, I turned and left. I knew Trey was still standing there in shock after what I said. I wanted to look back, but I couldn't make myself do it. I just got in my car and drove away.

"So whats up with you and Jake, and don't say nothing cause we both know that's a lie," Anyae questioned as we sat in the pedicure chairs of the nail salon.
