We had just left the school and I felt like literal death. Cody is super sweet for bringing me home. I really appreciate his friendship.

"Hey so uh I've gotta abandon you at your house" he says

I take that back...

"Wow thanks" I say

"Sorry but I promised Katelyn I'd be there for lunch" he says

"Whatever..."

He sighs and when we get to my house he makes me soup then leaves.

You- hey babe he left me

Bae😍❤️- be there soon!

You- thx

I turn on Netflix and start watching the last season of pretty little liars (IT CAME OUT TODAY AND LEGIT MY FRIEND GOT A NOTIFICATION ON YHE BUS SO SHE YELLED OUT THAT IT WAS OUT AND EVERY GIRL ON THE BUS WAS LIKE "YYAYAAYAYAYA!" THEN THE BUS DRIVER STARTED LAUGHING CAUSE HES CHILL....ahem back to the story)

A few minutes later I hear the sound of a window breaking. I jump at the sudden sound and run downstairs.

I look over and see Laurence rubbing the back of his neck. Then he sees me and pretends like I don't even notice.

"Heyyy Y/N- Oh my Irene someone broke your window!" He says pretending like he didn't do it

"Did you know your an awful liar?" I ask

He looks down and sighs then enters my house.

"Ummm so I was trying to do that thing wear you throw a rock at someone's window and they open it then it's like all romantic and stuff but instead I eneded up breaking it.." he says looking down

"It's okay but-" I was cut off by the sound of my phone ringing

You- hello?

??- yes is this Y/N L/N?

You- yes, yes it is, are you the hospital?

??- yes I'm here to tell you some good news, your mother is awake and I think you should go see her

You- all be right over-...wait, I'm sick

??- that's fine just wear a mask

"Who was that??" He asks

"The hospital...moms awake!" I say hugging him then kissing his cheek

"All drive you over, but promise me that when your better I get a real kiss?" He asks

"I could give you one now" I say getting closer to him

"That works for me" he says huskily

I break the space between us and kiss him softly. We pull away slowly and he smirks.

"Now that was worth getting sick for" he says hugging me

I giggle and we drive down to the hospital. Once we get there I get one of those mask things from the lady in the front desk and head to my moms room.

I knock on the door and hear "come in" from a doctor I assume. I open the door and see my mom Laying in the bed.

"Mom!" I squeal hugging her

She doesn't hug, she attempts to push me off of her and gives me a weird look. My eyes go wide with fear at the realization.

This can't be true it's just a misunderstanding and all will be well. But no the doctor looks at me sighing.

Laurence had the same shocked look on his face as my mom looks me up and down with a unapproved glare and says

"Excuse me but...who are you?"

And to think I finally had an actual parent for once....
