Monday was going to be a bust for Jonathan. He had to do a poet presentation for his English class and was happy that he could get it from a movie he liked.
He was waiting for the bus stop again, but this time he was twirling the necklace that was around his neck.
He heard giggling again, so of course, he checks to see who was coming. To no surprise, it was Evan holding Sydney's hand while the were walking and cracking jokes.
Evan saw Jonathan against the pole and smiled to see his best friend there.
"Hey Jonathan!" He says.
Jonathan just rolled his eyes. He really didn't want to hear his voice again.
"Jonathan, you wanna hang out today?" Evan asks, trying so hard to get his attention.
Again, Jonathan just ignores him and turns up his music.
"Evan, stop talking to him," Sydney says.
The bus comes so Jonathan goes and finds a seat. Evan sighs again but gets on the bus after him. He sees and hears others calling him names while throwing things at him.
"So, Evan. Are you coming over tonight?" Sydney asks.
'Why did I have to do that to him?' Evan thought.
"Babe?"
'I just used him... he'll never take me back.'
"Evan!"
"Huh?"
"I asked if you're coming over tonight..." Sydney says again.
"Oh, yeah, possibly," he says.
Evan looks at Jonathan one last time. Jonathan looks back and gives him the evil eyes. He scoffs then goes back to his music, while Evan tries to figured out a way how to get him back.
~Time Skip~
It was English class. The teacher assigned the class to find or create a poem to read to the class.
Evan already said his poem. It was all about how he feels about a certain someone and how much he apologizes. Of course, Jonathan just doesn't listen nor look at him.
"Anyone else want to say their poems out loud? You'll earn a ten point extra credit!" The teacher says.
Everyone looks around. Jonathan looks at his poem then raises his hand.
"I will."
She claps and he goes up to the front of the room.
"My poem is from the 90's classic, '10 Things I Hate About You,'" he says.
Play now.
He sighs, "I hate the way you talk to me and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick, it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right, I hate it when you lie.
I hate when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you're not around and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you, not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all..."
Evan looks at him with tears in his eyes while Jonathan just looks at him. He felt the hot tears come in so he quickly sat down and put his head down.
"Thank you Jonathan. I absolutely love that movie too," says the teacher.
Jonathan just kept his head down and tried to go through the day with only one thing in his mind.
Evan Fong.
