"Go fish"
I picked up a card and scanned it
"Got any sevens?"
I slowly shook my head
"Go fish"
Mr C stopped and looked at me
"You know Gem, it's been a week since you have been in the Ward and they are still keeping you here because you won't talk to them."
I shrugged
"So? I don't like them I'm sure as hell aren't going to talk to them"
He nodded his head
"We'll do you want to be in here forever?"
I shrugged again
"I don't care"
I suddenly shifted back in my chair when he sighed and threw his cards down on the table
"Jesus Gem how the hell are you going to get better if you don't do anything to change?"
I had never seen him this angry before
"There's nothing wrong with me!"
I got up out of my chair and say against the windowsill, looking out into the city lights.
"We'll obviously something is wrong because your here ok? So just talk to them and get out of here ok?"
My fave suddenly became very hot and my fists rolled up into balls
"AND WHERE AM I SUPPOSED TO GO AFTER THAT? Huh? In case you forgot I don't have a home"
A strange expression spread across his face, like a mix between anger and guilt.
"Gem, I"
"Forget about it."
"No, I won't.."
"YOU'RE NOT MY FATHER OK? I don't know what your trying to do here but it's not working. So just leave me the hell alone"
He put his hand on my shoulder but immediately I moved away.
Then all I heard were footsteps and the door shutting.
When I turned around I was alone, and boy did I regret it.
