Chapter Twenty: The Love Between Two Hedgehogs

A/N: Ok, this is the chapter you guys have been bugging me for, hence the title. It took so long to write because i have never written a full on lemon scene before.... This chapter is dedicate to all the pervs that wanted it. I hope you guys like it..

"Knuckles.." Sonic spoke the moment the saliva between him and Shadow broke causing the forty year old hedgehog to whipe his mouth. Next to him the black and red hedgehog just looked completely mortified and just wanted to teleport out but unfortunately the cobalt-blue hedgehog was still had a hold of him.

"Let me guess, your going to say "this isn't what it looks like", right?" The red echidna responded in an irritable low tone, as if baiting his best friend to insult his intelligence.

"Uh... no, I was just gonna tell you to relax bud. This.. this is pretty much what it looks like." Sonic responded with a smile that was somewhere between embarrassed and relieved that Knuckles had discovered the truth and he didn't have to hide it anymore.

"What?!" Knuckles exclaimed loudly, "Sonic you can't be serious, your not gay! You just went through a divorce!" The blue hedgehog only rolled his green eyes disregarding the red echidna's words.

"Knux, I know my own past. Besides, I kinda just went with Amy because I felt like I was supposed to, she was a nice girl and sure I loved her but deep down I was never satisfied. That's why our marriage failed. This is different, I've always been drawn to Shadow. He's always challenged me in a way that you guys never could."

"Alright, fine!" Knuckles huffed out in frustration. "Let's just say, for arguments sake you do like Shadow, what makes you think it will work? You were newly divorced and homeless when you went to live with him. How do you know that you aren't on the rebound and his feelings didn't just manifest out of pity? And even, if by some miracle is does work out between you, he's immortal, your not! What happens in the future when your old and he is not? You just expect Shadow to wait around for you to die?!" These words were met with a silence as both Knuckles and the black hedgehog he had been speaking about waited for Sonic to respond.

"Heh.." The forty year old hedgehog finally gave an uneasy noncommittal shrug while raising his white gloved hands. "I-I dunno, I never think that far ahead, you know that.. I just want to see what happens." This apparently had not been the response that Shadow had been looking for as he immediately got up and thrust the crutch the nurse had left them with, that had been resting by him, hard into Knuckles's chest before heading for the door.

"Shadow?" The forty year old hedgehog suddenly looked confused by his boyfriend's sudden departure. Knuckles had grunted in surprise at the force the crutch had been rammed into his chest, the black and red hedgehog had always rivalled him in strength much like he rivalled Sonic in speed.

"Hmh, maybe he heard something he didn't like." The red echidna grunted as he took hold of the crutches that had been thrust upon him. Sonic immediately bristled his quills defensively.

"Yeh, well, you shouldn't ask me such probing questions right in front of him. Dammit, you know how touchy he gets!" The blue hedgehog hissed irritated now thinking about how much this could jeopardise all the progress they had made over the last few weeks.

"You never take anything seriously, you mess around Sonic, what about what happened with Amy? Have you bothered to wonder how this might affect those around you? Your always so selfish when your not playing the hero!" Knuckles declared with a deepening frown.
