(Sasha's POV)
Exhaustion was officially an understatement of how I'm feeling. As soon as I reached home yesterday, I crashed on my bed. Thankfully I was already in my PJs. I still can't believe how fast the weekend passed and its already Tuesday. I dragged my body out of bed and walked into my en suite bathroom. After doing my morning routine, I walked down to the kitchen finding no one home. I made myself something to eat, looking at the time realising it's already noon. I slept for more than 8 hours and yet I feel drained.
I took my sandwich to the living room, switching on the television. As I was chewing on my first bite of my sandwich, I heard a chime which was from my handphone. Groaning, I got up from my seat and went to the kitchen as I left my phone on the counter. I had received a text message from an unknown number. I clicked the text open and the message left me stunned. I sat on the stool near the counter, pondering what it meant. It took me sometime to come back to my senses. I immediately called Lekaa and asked her to come over.
My best friend barged into my quiet house. I was pacing in my living room, "What's the emergency?" Lekaa asked as she drops herself on my living room couch. I threw her my phone and told her to read the message.
"Dylan wasn't caught in a misfire. He was murdered. It was planned." she read the message aloud. "What do you think it means? Plus, why is the person texting me?" I pondered aloud while pacing. I expected a trail of foot markings on the carpet, thankfully there weren't any. "I'm calling LeRoy and Nate over now. We need to tell them." she dialed their number and before I could object. She told them to come over as soon as possible.
Both of them came in looking very tired. LeRoy noticed my distress and engulfing me in a big tight hug, peppering my hair with kisses. I hugged him, inhaling his scent. I always wonder how he could always smell so good.
"Would someone tell me why were we summoned here?" Nate asked grumpily, putting a hand through his hair. Lekaa looked at me, signaling me to show the message. I untangle myself from LeRoy and took my phone that was on the coffee table. I click on the message and sat beside Lekaa. Nate was sitting on the single arm chair and LeRoy sat beside me. Nate scowled at me while LeRoy tried to peak at my phone.
"What I'm going to tell both of you is something extremely sensitive. Someone sent me this. I don't know how far this is true but I'm sharing it with you. And...-" "Stop stalling Kia. Just tell what that message is." LeRoy cut my ramble. I read the message in one breath without taking my eyes off the screen. I heard LeRoy heavy breathing and Nate started tapping his feet irritably. LeRoy's held my thigh tight as if he was controlling his anger.
"Lekaa could you bring Nate over to our house. I would like to speak with Kia. Alone." he said gritting his teeth. I turned to Lekaa and Nate, both looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders and left my house. I didn't want to be left alone with an angry LeRoy, let alone LeRoy at all.
We sat in complete silence for a couple of minutes. I couldn't leave the room as his hand still gripped my thigh. "Kia. Could I see the message again?" I unlocked my phone and passed it to him. He stared at the message "Okay. Did you reply to it?" I shook my head and he nodded.
