Soon enough it was time to take off back home. Daniel was needed in the United Kingdom for a couple sessions in the simulator and Maja was needed in the factory for the improvement of the car. They got an update with some settings on the rear wing and it was time to get those tested and set in the basic settings.

They had a meeting in the morning, Daniel and Maja took his Aston Martin as Sam would drive himself to the factory. Daniel's parking was sloppy as always and Maja had to squeeze herself between the Aston and the car next to them to get out. "Dan, you're a Formula 1 racer, but your parking is worse than my mom's".

Daniel burst into laughter and just opened the trunk to get his bag out of it. The two stepped inside and Maja smiled at her reflection in the window, the golden necklace Daniel had gotten her shining around her neck. The briefing room was fiddled with the whole crew, Christian sitting in the front. Maja frowned as not Daniil was there, but someone else.

She recognized the kid, Max Verstappen. What was he doing here? Daniel looked over at her and at Max, thinking the exact same.

Christian stood up and cleared his throat so everybody would stop talking. Everyone was now quiet, wondering what he'd say. "As you have noticed, we have a new person sitting at our table, you know him already. Max is driving for Red Bull now. We decided to let him switch with Daniil". His explanation was short, no more words needed.

"He signed a contract last week in Austria, he'll be joining the team from now on. Let the weekend in Barcelona be a good one". Christian padded Max's shoulder and he smiled. He got to know his crew a bit already and will do some simulator sessions as well. Daniel looked a bit confused, but he could get used to it.

Max was a nice guy, but more than a small talk he had never made with him. The people spread around the factory, Maja going to work in the heart of the factory and Daniel going along with Simon to the sim rooms.

"What do you think about the rookie coming to drive here?". Rocky nudged her ribs as Max was with his new engineer watching at the cars that stood in the factory. "I think it's nice, a good opportunity for him to develop his driving skills". Maja said, looking over at the young driver as well. "Just a bit weird that Daniil left so early in the season". Rocky replied.

The Swede nodded in response, laying the screw driver she held down and wiping her hands with a white towel. "A bit, I guess it was a volcano that's brewing from the start already. Russia and the incident with Vettel was the eruption". Maja shrugged. "Nothing to do about it".

Rocky nodded. "I know". He sighed, his eyes wandered off to the shiny jewel that hung around her neck. "Let me guess, you got that from mister Casanova". He smirked. Maja's eyes went wide and her cheeks turned rosy. "Who's that?". She asked with a teasing smile.

"Dan of course, who else". Rocky scoffed and she nodded.

Max and Daniel didn't have much time to get to know each other a bit better as Daniel was mainly in the sim and Max was told about the car. Maja listened to the conversations he had with some of the mechanics and she had to admit he sounded like a smart kid. The end of the workday came in sight and she searched for Daniel, who was still in the sim.
