"So close, no matter how far. Couldn't be much more from the heart. Forever trust in who we are, and nothing else matters. Never opened myself this way, life is ours, we live it our way. All these words I don't just say, and nothing else matters".
Nothing Else Matters // Metallica & San Francisco Symphony Orchestra
(the most beautiful version, please, give it a listen)
Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, October 2016.
Things had turned almost completely how it was before. Maja was working as Daniel's head of Aerodynamics again. She saw the psychologist just once a month and that was it, no further talk needed. Maja was the vivid and bright person she always was again, and Daniel was the happiest person in the world now. Christian approved of their relationship and Maja staying in his crew. She has explained to her colleagues what has happened to her and if she responded vaguely to something, she asked for them to understand.
Of course it wasn't something she forgot about, she doesn't think about it daily, but yes she thinks about it every now and then. Only to realise how happy and lucky she is with someone like Daniel. He was the most amazing boyfriend you could wish for. Maja smiled at the thought of him, while he was just in the shower after the qualifying sessions on the circuit of Malaysia. It was hot here, but she had to admit she liked the evening air with the soft breeze on the balcony of the five star hotel they stayed in.
It was weird to think that they were getting closer and closer to the end of the season. To the end of her firsts season in the Formula 1 world. She couldn't imagine a better job for her, she was finding herself at her place in this circus. Daniel peaked his head around the door of the bathroom, wearing just a pair of boxers. He, as an Aussie, was used to the heat, but not the sweaty, almost wet, kind of heat. He quietly searched for Maja, finding her on the balcony, leaning her elbows over it.
He gently reached out for her as she probably didn't hear him and he didn't want to scare her. Maja looked up when he slid his hand down her spine, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into his chest. "You know where I'm taking you tomorrow evening?". He asked her, nuzzling his head in her neck after moving her hair away. She giggled as his scruff tickled a bit. "No?". She asked and turned around in his arms. Maja placed her hands on his chest, feeling his smooth skin beneath her palms.
"The Petronas towers, all the way to the top floor". He smiled down at her. Maja returned the smile and looked into his eyes. "Then we can see like whole Malaysia". She said, eyes sparkling. "That's true". Daniel smiled. "And it's late, we should sleep". He added, combing his fingers through her hair. "Do we?". She raised her eyebrows. "You're the one who's always in for a work out before sleeping". Maja teased him and he mocked her before swinging her over his shoulder.
"Hey, put me down, Daniel!". She laughed and slapped his bum. Daniel threw her down on the mattress, making her giggle some more and hovered over her to kiss her. She gladly swung her arms around his neck, letting him lower his kisses and undress her. And show her how much he loved her over and over again.

Maja woke up with Daniel sprawled out over her, his head turned away from her as he laid on his stomach, his arm draped over her and one of his legs entwined with hers. She sighed and pushed him away, wanting to shower first because of the sweaty feeling she had. Even the nights were warm here. "Dan, get off me you prick". Maja shoved him harder, causing him to wake up too. Daniel didn't open his eyes, but turned to her and wrapped his arms tighter around her.
