“YOU’RE BACK.” Salubong sa kanya ng binata pag kapasok nya ng opisina nito. She senses delight on his voice. He seems to really wait her come back, pero pinalis nya ang iniisip. Maybe she was just over seeing something. Bakit naman kasi matutuwa si Mathew sa pagkikita ulit nila?

“I have to.”

“I know. You have to see me that’s why.” She could see a little grinned on his face. Lumapit ito sa kanya at inalalayan sya sa braso paupo sa sofa but she refuse to sit.

“Mr. Mondragon, please. You know how desperate I am to settle this thing. Habang tumatagal mas lalong lumalala ang sitwasyon and I can’t just let that happen. I need to fix this the soonest before we fully lost the little pride we have on us. Kaya kung hindi mo ako seseryosohin please lang, ngayon palang sabihin mo na.”

Nakita nya ang pagbabago ng ekspresyon ni Mathew. Kung kanina ay nakangiti ito, ngayon ay seryoso nang nakatingin sa kanya ang binata.

“Ok I got it. Let’s start then.” Sa pag kakataong iyon ay umupo na sya. Ito naman ay pumunta sa kaharap nyang sofa.

“It might sound rude but, I just want to know if you are willing to help me? I mean I don’t have much time to spent here in the phi-“

“I will!” he said firmly cutting her words. “But, of course in some conditions.”

Iniangat ni Cara ang kanyang cellphone at binuksan iyon. “I just did the first thing you told me. I change my screen saver and transferred all the pictures Zerox has on my phone. But, I did not block him neither will do that.” She told him. Desperado na talaga syang matapos ang gulo na to kaya ginawa nya ang sinabi ni Mathew. Though, years had passed she still knew some of his attitude and one of those is that he doesn’t kid around. When he says it, he is serious and you must follow. Isa rin ito sa mga kinaiinisan nyang ugali ng binata.

“I don’t like the last statement but, I will let it pass for now.” Tumayo ito at may kinuhang folder sa drawer bago bumalik sa pag kakaupo. “Read this. If you agreed with all the term you may sign it now.”
She was a little shock. Hindi nya inaasahang handang handa na ang binata, para tuloy gusto nya nang maniwala sa nakita nyang reaksyon nito kanina. Maybe he really waited for her.

She composed herself as she begins to scan the folder. Nakalagay doon na magtatrabaho sya bilang interior designer sa kompanya nito. Well, it is easy. Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero she considered herself as one of the best interior designer in the company she works. Ilang beses narin kasi syang nakatangap ng papuri doon and multiple promotions in her tenure.

“So I will be hired as your Interior designer?” walang problema sa kanya iyon. Nalaman nya kasi by research na may mga branch ang kompanya ng binata sa iba’t ibang bansa. They also have some in US, baka pwede sya doong mag pa assign habang nagseserbisyo sa kompanya nito.

“Yeah, and you will be assign to design my house.”

She felt uneasy the way he said his house pero hindi nya na iyon pinansin. “Ok.” She read the folders content again. Baka may makaligtaan syang importanteng bagay na maglagay sa kanya sa alanganin. Mahirap na. When she reaches the last page ay napaangat ang kanyang kilay. Hindi pa kasi nya nakikita ang bagay na kanina nya pa hinahanap. Kahit pa natapos nya nang basahin ang huling pahina ay wala parin ito. “Weird.” She closed the folder and put it on the table. “No specific dates or expiration of the contract?” she asked him.

“None.” He shrugged. “Well, that’s normal. It will be bizarre to see job contract telling employees they should resign on this specific date.” Pilosopo nitong sagot.

“You know what I’m talking about.” Pinandilatan nya ito ng mata. Nakita nyang umangat ang gilid ng labi nito at unti-unting ngumiti.

“So cute.” He whispered but enough for her to hear.
