Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4:

After awhile of silence Maya said she needed to talk to me about something. I was kind of scared because Maya is like an older sister to me.

"So when Matt and I--" I cut her off before she could finish. "If you're just going to tell me about how you and Matthew kicked it off I don't--"

Maya cut me off. "I would never do that to my best friend. I wanted to tell you that Matt said it looked like Carter was really interested in you. I know how much you love Carter so I asked Matt to do me a favor--"

"--and...what was it?" I asked excitedly. "I asked Matt if he could ask Carter to ask you out on a date, but Matt said only if Carter wants to, he can't force him."

.......Obviously.

"Anyways," she said, "he said Carter said he's not for sure." I rolled my eyes in disgust of what she's done. "You look annoyed. I messed this up didn't I?" she sounded upset. "I'm just frustrated because of what you've done. I wanted to get Carter to like me for who I am and ask me out on his own. Not because you asked his friend to ask me out. What if I put you in this situation? You would be pretty pissed huh? Exactly!" I sounded like a complete bitch.

Maya's face turned red. "I'm sorry Maya," I said, "I didn't mean for it to come out like that, I know you were trying to--" Maya cut me off. "It's fine, I was just trying to help but I understand, I would be pretty pissed too. I was just trying to make you happy because I know how much you adore Carter. I'll stay out of it from now on if you would like me to."

The car ride was awkward for the next 45 minutes, then I told Maya I was hungry so she pulled into the McDonald's drive thru and ordered both of us Big Mac's with a medium fry and a sprite. We had 2 hours left in the car so I decided to apologize to Maya again then we had small talk. The song Confident by Justin Bieber came on and we both started singing along to the chorus.

We made up after that and we only had 30 minutes left in the car! I was so excited to arrive at the hotel then have 1 day left until Magcon! I could get to meet all the Magcon Boys and this time I would be confident! I would talk to Carter and get him to like me for me. I'm sure of it!
