Chapter 14

CHAPTER 14:

When morning came I found that Matt and Maya were already gone. Carter was already awake and was looking at me. His eyes were kind, his voice soft. "Good morning gorgeous, Matt and Maya went to the lobby to get breakfast. I wanted to wait for you." I couldn't help from smiling when he said this.

I got up, brushed my teeth, straightened my hair, put on teal vans, a white long sleeve shirt, and a teal and coral floral skirt.

I came out of the bathroom to see Carter sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for me.

"Are you alright?" I asked slowly. "Just thinking about last night. I'm fine though." He hugged me and held me tight. "You look amazing by the way." He blushed. "Thank you. So do you."

He was wearing kaki's, a black v-neck, and his SnapBack. He smelt good.

We finally left the room to meet Maya and Matt downstairs for breakfast. They were already finished but they waited for us to finish. It wasn't weird because they were flirting with each other and talked about the cutest things. It was so sweet. Carter stared at me. He shook his head. I grabbed his hand and pulled me to the lobby.

"What's the matter? You're acting like something with me is wrong. What happened? What happened!!?" I started tearing up. I felt my face get hot. Carter grabbed me and took me to the room. Maya and Matt followed. Carter sat beside me. "The thought that I almost lost you last night kills me. It's summer. We should be having fun. But it feels like I'm losing you slower everyday." He stared at the wall while saying this. I kissed him and told him everything would be alright. It didn't seem like he believed me.

I forgot that Maya and Matt had been there the whole time. But Maya said something to Carter that I couldn't hear. I only heard a few words though. "Thinking... Crazy... Loves... Haylei!!" She was whispering but yelling while whispering at the same time.

Matthew looked at me. The look was so confusing to me. He looked sad but happy at the same him. Mixed emotions obviously.

"I don't know" I mouthed to him. He flicked his eyebrows the rolled his eyes. I texted him. "What's she saying?" He looked at me shook his head while smiling and replied "You're crazy, she said I wasn't aloud to tell you." I put my phone away. And walked out of the door. They saw me get in my car, Carter ran after me.

"Don't go. I love you. I will never stop loving you. I was sad and confused. Maya told me how you feel and what you talk to her about. You can't go." He yelled at me from across the parking lot. I stopped. "I didn't say I was going anywhere." I got out of my car and walked to him. Hugged him and kissed him goodbye. The look in his eyes killed me. Maya and Matt stayed with him. I walked away. Not looking back. I didn't see anything behind me. I kept walking. I didn't know what to do. I, was confused...
