Chapter 11

CHAPTER 11:

We had about an hour left until Magcon. I was freaking out and Maya couldn't stop smiling. Every time I looked at her she was smiling. It made me smile because she's hasn't been this happy since 7th grade.

"You look perfect." I said softly. "Thank you, so do you." she replied. I smiled at her and thanked her. I didn't shake my head in disagreement this time. I just let the compliment run through my body.

I didn't usually accept compliments, but I didn't deny them all the time either.

I didn't want to sound conceited but I didn't want to sound like an attention whore.

Most the time I ignore the comments and get on with life.

All of a sudden Maya asked "can you believe that you're dating Carter and I'm dating Matt?"

I didn't really know how to reply because;

1. I couldn't believe I was dating Carter.

2. I COULD believe Maya was dating Matt.

And 3. I had a hard time admitting this to Maya.

I shook my head and stayed silent. She looked at me funny then started laughing. I laughed along with her even though I had no idea what was happening.. I do this a lot.

45 minutes had passed so we started to head out for Magcon. I was so excited! I could tell that Maya was also very excited. Her eyes were twinkling.

While we were in the car I spoke to Maya from the deepest part of my heart. "I can't believe that you and Carter stayed with me." Maya looked completely confused. "What? What-- wait. What do you mean?" She sounded like she was concentrating a bit too hard. "Just sticking with me. I love you best friend!" Maya still looked lost but she just shrugged her shoulders and went with it. "Love ya too." she replied.

After that we finally arrived at Magcon. Maya pulled into a spot close to the door and we rushed inside. There were so many people here. But through all the people, and all the noise. I saw Carter. I smiled and started walking towards him, then he and Matt disappeared into a room. I shrugged my shoulders and bobbed my head. I decided not to worry about it too much. I was here to have a good time!
