"Where should I put these?" I heard Michelle ask from the backseat. I turned around and looked at her.

"You can lay them on the seat, or hold them if you want. It doesn't matter. They'll be fine either way." I said. Michelle nodded and laid the flowers down before hopping in the passenger seat.

"It was a beautiful ceremony this morning." Michelle said quietly.

"Yeah it was." I nodded. "I don't know why it always rains on the days of funerals, though. It's like the universe is mocking us."

"It's a shame. I guess everyone is mourning today, including the Lord." Michelle sighed. "At least she's in a better place now."

I nodded. "I guess you're right."

"Ready to go check on the Carters?" She asked once we were situated. I put my shades on and nodded.

"Yeah, do you think we should we pick up anything for Jay or the kids?"

"Nah, I'm sure they have more than enough right now. I was over there a few days ago and the house was filled with flowers and food." Michelle said. "People have been sending them stuff ever since it happened."

"Alright." I nodded. She turned up the radio and I drove across the city to their apartment building. I quickly typed in the password for the parking garage and parked behind Jay's Maserati.

Michelle grabbed the flowers and I locked my car before we took the elevator up to the top floor. I rang the doorbell and we waited.

Jay opened the door a few minutes later. He smiled when he saw us. "Hey." He kissed our cheeks and moved to the side so we could walk in.

"What's up Jay?" Michelle handed him the flowers and he looked at her.

"Really?"

"What?"

Jay shook his head and took the flowers off to the kitchen.

Michelle and I walked into the living room and saw Beyoncé laying on the couch. I laughed because she didn't look happy. "I'm guessing Jay still has you on that diet?" I said.

Beyoncé rolled her eyes and nodded. "Him and Dr. Rochelle have been giving me hell about eating better for the twins. I haven't had Popeyes in two weeks!" She whined. "Jay's been making me eat some nasty soup shit with no flavor. Do I look white?"

"Well..."

"Shut the hell up." Bey waved her hand and leaned back. "Y'all can go now."

Michelle just shook her head. "You're an addict girl. It ain't that serious. Popeyes is not good enough for you to be tripping over it."

Bey shrugged while we sat down next to her. "How was Lisa's funeral?" She asked us. "I wish I could've made it, but I'm still on bed rest because of my back. Jay and I sent her family flowers though."

"It was beautiful." Michelle said. "Rainy, but beautiful regardless."

"That's nice." Bey smiled. "It's a shame, it's always the good that die young. This could've been avoided if people didn't drink and drive." She shook her head. "I'll be praying for her family though."
