Before I start, I'd like to give a special thanks to everyone that has read, voted for this story, or became a fan. You all make it worthwhile! Also I hope everyone had a good Easter, even if you didn't celebrate it. (I did for the chocolate, shhh)

Anyway, enjoy :)

Ryan's POV

Violet and I lay on my bed for a while, with the cushions supporting our backs, propped up against the head board. We were both lost in our thoughts. I was thinking of how I could tell my parents that I was planning on treating Violet as my mate properly, as royalty.

'You could just go tell them the truth, without thinking of some dramatic speech. They need to know Ryan, Violet is our mate, and I am destined to be linked with Dana for life,' Caden said, intruding on my thoughts.

I sighed and turned my head towards her, Violet's chocolate, brown hair shone in the deep orange light from the lamp, and I reached over to brush a stray strand of it from her face. She smiled weakly at me and I wondered what was going on in that mind of her's.

I asked curiously, "What's on your mind beautiful?"

She smiled at me again, more warmly, and she replied "Not much really. Do you wanna go to the library again?"

A glimmer of hope shone in her eyes, and I knew she wanted to have a chance to read a good book and chat peacefully with me, as we did the other night.

"Sure, lets go now, before it gets too late and guards do their patrol."

I walked around the bed and took her hand as she raised herself from it, I kissed her cheek gently and lead her to the library.

There were hundreds of books in this room, they all had plain, leather covers of different colours. There were books from just about every genre. Violet let go of my hand and walked over to the 'Fantasy' section, I watched her pull out a book which had a faded navy blue cover. I sat down on a worn, red armchair and beckoned her to join me.

"I thought this looked rather interesting." She said.

"Lets have a read then shall we," I replied, "you like reading don't you? I used to come in here as a kid, and pick out some of the simpler books. My nanny used to teach me to read."

She gazed at me questioningly as she sat down on the large chair between my legs and asked out of interest "Did your mother spend much time with you as a boy?"

I sighed sadly as I thought back to when she and my father used to always be busy ruling the pack. My nanny was the only person who looked after me, "No, not much, she was busy helping my father rule."

"Oh." She murmured understandingly, silence filled the room as she didn't pressure me to tell her more. She simply let me sit in silence as I remembered my life as a boy. Lonely and stuck in this castle.

Now she was here I felt happier, like a torch had been lighted in the very depths of my soul. I realised I never wanted her to leave.

I looked down at her reading the book, she looked quite happy. I kissed the top of her head and started reading the page she was on. 'The angel came out of the light mist, she told the boy to let go of his fears and embrace all that life threw at him. He was her guardian angel.'

Violet is like an angel to me, she helps me see things I don't usually notice, like how much I hate this place, how much I love her, how to clean. I chuckled at my last thought, she was always cleaning and showing me what to do for if she was ever in a cell again. Hopefully never. Her head rotated and she looked me in the eyes, "What's so funny mister?" She asked.
