Why me?

A Summer Breeze

I like to lay in the woods often enough so i can escape the real word. The woods to me was like an alternative reality that nothing mattered. The cool breeze on a summer day was enough to keep me there, but I knew I had to go back sooner or later so I stood up and headed for the house.

Let me introduce myself, I'm Luna and I live in Raven rock with my mother Sarah, my father Cole, and my brother Devin. I'm 11 years old with long, greenish gray hair, I only ever wear plane cloths because sticking out was something I didn't like to do. I always wear my brown gloves to keep from getting to hurt, something Devin always made fun of me for but I've gotten used to it really. Other than my plane boots, thats all i wear normally because being light on my feet is always important to me and always has been.

I watch the trees and half dead grass sway in the wind as i pass. As I come up to the hill, i can see how old the shed is  that father built a long while ago. I walk down the hill and see Devin gathering things in the garden. "Mom making you do her chores again?" I laugh and walk closer. "well if someone were here when they're supposd to be, I wouldn't be stuck doing this" Devin says a bit annoyed but shrugs it off "Papa said he wants to see you as soon as possible so you'd beter hurry, he's inside" he points to the door and smirks "yeah...." I Knew what was coming. When i walked in, a rush of Spiced beef (not human flesh, just normal beef) washed over me and i smiled, looking at mother who was cooking dinner, "smells lovely mother" she looked up at me and smiled before going back to cooking as i went into dads room. He was reading a letter but quickly hid it when he saw me "ahh, just the person i needed to see" he smiled and i sat down in front of him, resting my arms on the small table in front of me. "yes papa?" " so i see you've still been sneaking away from the house, even after our last talk" he paused " this behaviour is unecceptble and you know it" he said sternly and looked me right in the eye, waiting for an answer. "im sorry papa but i dont like being told to do chores that Devin could do much easier than me, plus he preferse to do them...""i dont care, you will do what you're told and thats final". I sighed and nooded "good,now go and help your mother set the table" he motioned toward the door and smiled. I get up and head into the small dining room to help and hopfuly get some food before hand.

After dinner Devin and me were told to head to bed early by papa because we were all getting a suprise in the morning. I head to our room after putting PJs on and layed down, roling over so Devin wouldn't talk to me sinse i wanted to be left alone. I just wanted to sleep.
