Why me?

A New Friend

     I ran as fast as I could from whoever helped me. I knew they were bad news and I didn't want to stay around for any longer to find out what would happen to me. As I was running I could feel to cold rain on my face and arms. it stung so bad and I just wanted it to go be over. The person chasing me finally caught up to me and grabbed my wrist, throwing me to the ground. "just quit fighting already, you wont get anywhere!" they yell at me and I kick them in the ribs but before I could get away from them, they grab their dagger and swung it at me.

     I woke up screaming, I had a pounding headache and my arms hurt from the way I was laying on them. I surprised myself when I don't feel tears running down my face but I didn't have any left to cry it felt like. I then felt the fire that was next to me and I heard its crackling and popping of the wood. I tried sitting up but my head hurt more when that happened but I didn't listen like always and sat up a bit faster than I wanted. "id slow down if I were you" a voice warned me and that's when I realized there was a boy sitting across from me stoking the fire. I of course jumped and moves back till I hit a tree that was inches away from where I was. he looked a few years older than me though. "and who the hell are you?" i asked, my voice cracking, obviouse i was crying before. "cussing isnt very lady like you know" " and why should i care, i-" he cut me off by throwing a healing potion in my direction and it hit my arm "here, if you hurt anything, drink". i wasnt very happy with him already telling me what to do but i knew he was right so i drank it even if i couldnt feel anything hurting from cuts or bruises. "so what happened back there?" he asked apparently not careing if it was to soon to ask and with that i shot him with a very powerful shock spell, glad to hear him scream but ive never done anything that strong before, id think about it later though. "what the hell was that for?!" he was pissed but i didnt care. "its not very gentleman like to cuss infront of a young girl like me" i say innocently but he wasnt buying it. "do it again and ill leave you behind" he said sternly and that freaked me out a bit so i stoped being the smart ass i am for now. "my names Luna Moon, and you?" i asked quielty, he looked up and gave me a glare before answering "names Teldryn Sero" he paused " i like that name, Luna, its nice" and of course with this i just had to make a comment "hey now, i know we just me and im sexy and all but dont go off and flirt with me sir" i said while laughing quietly. Half expecting him to yell at me again, he didnt but instead he laughed while smirking "at least you have a sense of humor" " thanks and i got my name from my mom, she always loved the lunar eclips so she named me Luna Moon even though that wasnt their last name but father wasnt againt it so yeah..." i got quiet at the end but i tried to not show i was very upset "im sorry about your family...." him trying to comfort me but i didnt except it "yeah, me to" i said with a hint of anger. trying to calm myself down i looked up at him "hey, how old are you?" "17, and you?" he smiled "12, it was my birhday yesterday" i smile "what do you like to use when fighting?" i could tell this question caught him off guard and i just laughed. "well im a really good swordsman and heavy armor is the way to go, have you found out what you like or do you just like shocking people" he laughs "ive never faught anything but my brother and chasing a few chickens on the farm" I smile as I remember chasing the chickens for hours, not my fault, they were just really smart. " I hate heavy armor though, it only slows me down and bringing attention to myself is one thing I cant stand" I reach for my hood on my head and glad its still there so my ears are covered and sighing in relief. he suddenly snapped "that's why you're familiar, you were in the inn a few days ago, I'm the guy that told those assholes to leave you alone. heh they weren't real happy that you got away when I was talking but they got what they deserved." he scratched the back of his neck but his helmet was in the way so he could get to the itch. "yeah, thanks for the help, i didnt know what they meant till last night to be honest, turns out my dad barrowed money from them to buy  a new house but didnt pay them back so who ever he borrowed from ordered to kill them" i smiled slightly  and tugged my hood further over my head "my dad never was as smart as he let on to be" " why do you always keep youre hood up and why did people look at you weird in the inn?" he asked. I sigh and look at him and away from the fire "haven't you noticed my skin color? it doesn't exactly match my race and my hood is to cover my ears" looking at him and waiting for him to call me a freak since everyone always does once they find out but the didn't " I did notice just didn't say anything and I think its a nice skin color if I do say so myself and if you are ashamed of it then to bad, plus what's wrong with your ears?" he asked. I think it over before telling him anything but its to late now so I give in " my mother was a nord and my father was a dark elf and that's obviously frowned upon plus having children would just make us a target but they didn't care and had me and Devin heh. I was born a nord but I had light blueish purple skin and my ears are pointed" I say and pull down my hood, exposing my ears and they stood out more since I had my hair up. He only sat there and didn't say anything for a bit but eventually spoke up "don't take this the wrong way but I think your skin is a beautiful color and I like your ears" at this point I was shocked and I do admit I blushed at the comments because the only people who've said anything like that was mom or dad. to cover up my blush I put my hood back up and looked down at the fire again. "thanks" I said quietly.
