Chapter 19 somethings you never forget

"It looks like Anna was in her far away star that's what a coma is but it looks like she's heard something that freaked her out she heard a voice or a song and her brain spazed out and it freaked her out and she had a panic attack in a coma." I try to process the information the doctor had just told us.

"Is she ok" I hear lee ask. The doctor nods.

"Yes but she's sleeping right now she can't have visitors"

"So she's. Awake from her coma but just sleeping" the doctor nods and walks away. I sit down feeling like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders she's awake she's up what if she. Remembers everything. But what if she. Forgets everything again. I run my fingers through my hair I need to rest my eyes. I close my eyes and listen to the bustle of the hospital.

"Car car what do you wanna be when your older?" I look turn my head and look at Anna's small 8 year old figure "we'll Annie bear I wanna be a professional football player what do you wanna. Be?" She thinks about it for a minute. "We'll daddy tells me I can be. Whatever I want as long as I'm happy so that's what I wanna be is happy that's it I wanna just be happy with what I will be and have we'll that's what daddy tells me"

Me, Anna,lee and Ben were all sitting in the living room me,lee, and Anna were all 14 Ben was 17 it was a normal day Ben was on his phone texting hunter. Me lee and Anna were arguing about what ice cream flavors better.Mathew there dad was upstairs showering. We were all talking and arguing and having a good time until we had heard a thud Anna looks at Ben who looks at all us. We all jumped up at the same time and. Bolted up the stairs one after another to Mathews room Ben knocks on the door.

"Dad are you ok" we wait a second but don't hear anything Ben opens the door and walks to the attached bathroom. And Anna knocks.

"Daddy are you ok?" At first I don't think any of us here it but then we here a groan and moan. Ben takes no time opening the door that's when we see a distraught sight. There laying on the bathroom floor blood. Everywhere is Mathew it looks like he fell and hit his head. I grab my phone and call 911 as Ben and Anna try to sit him up lee calls mom. Anna's talking to her dad I can here there conversation.

"Princess" he weakly whispers

"Yes daddy" Anna replies. Crying

"Stay strong for. Me no matter what ok baby girl" Anna nods her head as her dad looks at Ben.

"Son marry hunter..." He coughs and wheezes

"Raise a family with her" he looks at me and mouths something I'll never ever ever forget.

"Take care of my Anna" those were the last words ever spoken by Mathew he died before the ambulance could get there he was getting out of the slippery shower and feel and hit his head where his brain tumor is and he hit his tumor and it exploded and killed him.

I awake in a sweat I sit up at look around I'm still in the hospital waiting room. I shake my head I remember both of Those days I sigh.

"Carter are you ok" I look up at my mom and nod

"Yea I'm fine just a dream"

"It was just a dream" I whisper to myself and get comfy in my chair again and fall asleep.

Me and lee were 13 we were at home sitting in the living room watching tv our parents were upstairs fighting all we could here was a bunch of screaming and things being thrown. That's how it always was since my dad became an alcoholic. Lee turns the tv up louder trying to drown out the noises. About 5 minutes later my dad comes down stairs with a bunch of bags. He looks at me and lee he's drunk you can tell.

"Kids I'm leaving"

"Can we go with you dad" lee asks my dad sighs.

"No sweetie you can't your gonna stay here and have a new daddy I'll see you when your older by carter by Leean"

I sat there for awhile thinking about what my dad said still to this day I have no idea what he meant. But all I know is that was the last day I've seen my dad and it's been almost 5 years.

I awake from the memories to see my mom and lee whispering low

"What's going on mom" she looks at

"Nothing" I sit up and check the time I've only been sleeping an hour and a half I sigh when will Anna get up.
