Call Me Out- Sarah Close
•Macy's POV•
"A table of ten down back, can you take them, Bailey?" Lindsay, another waitress asked me, I changed my name when I left them, I didn't want them to try and find me. I turned off my phone and put it away, mentally preparing myself for the last table of the day. I quit my job with Tobi's friend after everything happened. It didn't seem right to stay there, so I left.
"Sure." I smiled at her, she and I were quite good friends so I didn't mind working here.
"Welcome to Nando's is everything okay for you today?" I put a fake spring on my step and a fake smile on my face. I never really looked people in the eye, not after them. When not a word came out of their mouths and I heard the clatter of cutlery, I looked up.
"Oh.. um." I gulped audibly as the seven men's shocked faces, along with Freya and Emily, that I never wanted to see again looked back at me. "Is everything okay?" I asked again in a quiet voice, the fake smile gone long ago.
A small nod from a few of them was enough to let me leave. I walked quickly to the back room before messily grabbing my things, taking off my apron and replacing it with an old hoodie. I cursed myself when I realised it was an old sidemen hoodie, one that they gave me before I went to live with Ethan.
"Hey, there's a guy from that table out front wants to see you." Lidia, another girl poked her head around the corner to the staff room.
"Tell them that I've already left please." I smiled over at her and pulled my hood up before walking out of the restaurant.
As I stood in front of the Nando's, I grabbed my packet of cigarettes and took one out, lighting the smokable cancer and taking a long drag. I focused on playing with the lighter in front of me as the world went by around me, some people giving me disapproving glares as they walked past.
I quietly sighed and flicked off the ash, noticing the pair of black Yeezys in front of me but thought it was best not to look up.
"I barely recognised you with your hair." Josh cleared his throats and started the awkward conversation.
