Fire Exits- The Citrus Clouds
•Bailey's POV•
"He looks bare like that guy you have in that picture in your sitting room, Bailey." Lindsay mentioned once we got into his flat.
"What one?" I glanced up anxiously. I couldn't bear looking around, that flat brought back so many memories it was hard to keep a strong exterior and pretend that I didn't spend a month living here.
"The one with you and the group of guys at Thorp Park." She replied quickly. I played along with being surprised about us living in the same building and having similar senses of humour but I didn't know if I could play this one off. I could see shock with a hint of happiness on Tobi's face.
"Oh yeah, that one. I've been meaning to throw it out, it's just my ex with his friends." I rambled slightly, shrugging my shoulders.
"I think you look nice in it." She replied quickly.
"Thanks, I think I'm going to have a smoke, I'll go back to my own flat. I'm sure you don't want yours stinking of smoke." I spoke directly to Tobi. I could see his disapproving frown when I mentioned cigarettes but as far as he's concerned, we only met and he's not an old father figure in my life.
"No, you can go out to the balcony." He said motioning to the one to the left of us.
"No I-I'll just go...um, do you want me to take Neto with me?" I muttered, hastily standing up and walking towards the door.
"Calm down Bailey, it's only us, why are you so anxious tonight?" Lindsay walked over to me and set a calming hand on my shoulder, her hazel eyes setting on my blue ones.
"A-a lot of things from my past have been dug up this week, I think it would be better if I was alone." I said with a small smile at the end.
"You aren't going anywhere, I'm going to get ice cream and you're going to stay here." Before I could protest she was out the door. I sighed and awkwardly looked over to Tobi.
"I mean at least she has trust in you?" He joked, referring to how she left me alone with him.
"I'm sorry for leaving you with a note, I should have been more considerate of your feelings." I ignored his last comment and walked over to the familiar balcony.
"We really want you back Bailey." He sighed, following me out the door.
