Sick Of Losing Solemates-Dodie
•Bailey's POV•
"I don't understand why you do it." I heard Lindsay sighed as I took another drag of my cigarette.
"Because I want to." I shrugged, flicking off a bit of ash into the ashtray that sat beside the window.
"I'll need to go soon." Lindsay mumbled through a mouthful of cereal.
"Yeah, I need to go out for a shop too." I sighed.
"I've got a date with Tobi tonight, do you think you could look after Neto for the night." She blurted out after a short silence.
"Of course, you know I love him." I laughed lightly at how sheepish she was about it.
"Thanks. I'll have to go get ready soon." She smiled brightly at me before getting up from her seat on the sofa. She crashed when we got back and it was mid afternoon when we woke up.
"Awe, I'll see you tomorrow then?" I pouted before stubbing out my cigarette and walking over to pet Neto.
"Yeah, you've got a key to my flat, you can go get the food later." She called out as she walked down the hall. "Bye Bails, bye Neto."
"Bye bitch." We shared a laugh before she left.
I walked out of the kitchen and into my office to start up my computers for the day, Neto soon followed and jumped up on the sofa behind me.
I filmed a play through video that took two hours to film and then started to edit. When I was done the first few videos, I made some pasta for myself and decided it was about time to walk Neto and get him some food.
We took the short walk down to Tesco, it worked for me because I need a few things anyway.
As I briskly strolled down the street, little things, like a car space or a lamppost, reminded me of Ethan. Those stupid minuscule things that meant nothing to the regular passerby, were everything to me. The streets were busy, they always were in London but Neto was used to the crowds.
I tied him up and entered the shop, going straight to the pet aisle so I didn't forget. When I was done, I walked out and untied Neto."Bailey, hey!" I heard the familiar voice of Lindsay behind me.
"Hey, Lin." I smiled, trying to keep ahold of the very excited Neto while walking towards her. "Were you not on a date?" I asked, raising my eyebrow.
"Yeah, we were going in to watch a film and came by for some sweets." She said while petting Neto. "I could introduce you to him." She bubbled with excitement as I laughed lightly at her.
"Yeah, see if he'll pass my test." I joked with another laugh.
"Tobi, this is Bailey" The familiar short boy walked up to us with two plastic bags in both hands, his faltering smile mirrored mine as we took in each other's faces "... and Bailey, this is Tobi." She continued before petting Neto.
"Hi, nice to meet you." A small fake smile spread across my face and held out my hand for him to shake.
"You too." He smiled back, I could tell it was fake.
"We're going back to his now if you want to walk home with us?" She asked looking up at both of us from her crouched position next to Neto.
"I think I'll be okay, mother." I joked, she was the responsible one in our friendship, that's where the joke came from.
"Come on, it's getting late." Tobi persuaded in a low friendly voice.
"Come on guys, you're meant to be on a date." I sighed, trying to get out of walking with them.
"Bailey, you're walking with us, now come on." She sighed, taking Neto's lead and walking him.
