Martinus came back after changing.
"Hey babe," he said.
"Hi Tinus. You ready to go?"
He nodded then cut in front of me which made me trip over my feet.
I took the opportunity and jumped onto his back. He screamed and almost fell, making me squeal. Martinus caught himself just in time and wrapped his arms around my legs.
"You're so cute!" He yelled, laughing.
I giggled and tried to kiss his cheek, but his head turned, so I accidentally kissed his ear.
His face went from smiling to confused in a matter of seconds, making my stomach hurt from laughing so hard.
When we got to the parking lot, our parents weren't there. Tinus put me down and asked, "Where'd they go?"
I looked around and saw nothing. "You don't think they forgot about us, do you?"
He shrugged and said, "I have no idea."
We started to walk away from the church, but then we were stopped by a passing car. It was Reese. She was 16 so she was legal to drive.
Reese pulled over and told us to hop in.
"Reese, were did everyone go?" I asked.
She turned around and replied, "Mom and Dad took Jack, Emma and Lucas home a little early, so they could prepare for dinner. Marcus went home with Martinus' parents as well as another girl."
We got in and drove home.
"We are having a barbecue tonight and the littles wanted to show everyone something, but they needed to practice first." Reese said.
"Oh cool." Tinus mumbled.
Reese pulled into the driveway and got out of the car. I was about to open the door, when Martinus grabbed my hand and said, "We should perform something tonight!"
I wasn't very good at performances, I was pretty shy about those kind of things, but I didn't want to let Tinus down, so I nodded and said yes. Besides it was only in front of our families, right? What could go wrong?
My dad was making the burgers and talking to Tinus' dad, our moms were inside cooking some homemade fries.
I lead Martinus to my room. He saw a guitar and picked it up.
"I'm not great, but I've been practicing."
He sang a song that Marcus and Martinus both wrote. It was so good!
"What do you call it?" I asked.
"Um.. Heartbeat? I don't know, I'm not very good at titles."
"It's really good! You and Marcus should play it tonight!"
"Oh thanks," he was blushing, "Maybe we could sing it together?"
I shook my head, "No it's Marcus' and your song, I don't think that it would sound as great if I sang it with you."
He pleaded, "Come on Y/N, you're really talented and we're only playing it in front of our family."
"Fine, I'll do it."
He jumped up and grabbed my waist then spun me around in his arms, "You're the best babe, we'll have a lot of fun, don't worry!"
