Friday.
Lexi finally decided it was time to take her mother's advice and say "hi" to him. It was 3rd period, and her best friend Alisha wasn't in class, but her other friend Jizzale was. Lexi was getting super anxious and nervous to tell him "hi" just because of how he might react. Lexi asked Jizzale to practice with her about ten times so it would calm her nerves a bit. The girls practiced and it turned out at the end of class to be a success.
Finally... the bell rang and it all came down to this real moment. Lexi went to go to her next class and as she was approaching him on the stairs she did it. She said "hi" and he looked at her a bit confused but followed through and said "hey". She was super ecstatic. She ran up the next short flight of stairs smiling and squealing. She reached the classroom and was shaking a lot. She even lost her memory for a second and wondered if she really told him "hi" or if it was a dream. She told her friend Arturo about the boy and told Marian about what had happened too. It was an off day, since the students had a "long lunch" which is just an hour lunch instead of a 40 minute lunch period. So instead of making her way to the cafeteria she had to go to her 5th period class. As she's walking alone to her 5th period, she sees him walking the other direction, so she now knows he goes from the 2nd floor to the back of the building for his 4th period class. She was excited about seeing him, since he never quite left her mind. After 5th period the students went to lunch all at once and she saw him walking alone somewhere off campus through the window. She was quite thankful that he wasn't walking with a girl and thought maybe she could actually have a chance with him. Later in the day, she told her other friend Aaliyah, Ingrid and Lupita. Aaliyah and her had a class in the back of the building for 9th and they looked at the "social contract" which is how the class, students, and teacher want to be treated, to find his name on the 4th period chart. Lexi had Aaliyah ask the teacher if she knew a guy that was white and wore a red hoodie in her 5th period class, and the teacher responded with an answer of a Nathan, but when Aaliyah and Lexi looked up who Nathan was, Lexi realized it couldn't possibly be him by the way the profile had looked. Lexi did take a picture of the chart, but later realized she took a picture of the 5th period chart...
