Bethany's POV

The scent was everywhere and it was driving me crazy. Phoenix was all jumpy and excited but I didn't understand why. I took control back and was looking around. I realized I've never been here. It wasn't my territory but neither no others pack territory. I walked over to a bolder and laid down to take a rest. I closed my eyes for a bit but I couldn't go to sleep. It was probably Phoenix being all hyped up on the beautiful smell. I heard a twig snap in front of me. I quickly got up snout high ears perked up and ready to attack. I then realized it was just two bunnies running around. I froze when the delicious smell got stronger and closer. "Mate.." Phoenix whispered. I was shocked could it be my mate? "What are you talking about Phoenix.. Are you sure?" I asked her still not moving. "I am 1000% sure that's our mate Bethany! What do u think, im stupid?" She said getting all mad. I blocked her out and slowly turned my head to the side. As I turned my head I saw a big beautiful black wolf. My heart skipped like 20 beats and I froze. I literally couldn't move at all. The feeling of going over to him and be with him took over. "Bethany go over to our mate!!" Phoenix yelled at me. "Shit, Phoenix I can't move. I can't." I said panicked. All of a sudden he took a step forward. His body language showing no harm. He continued walking towards me until are snouts were almost touching. I stepped toward him closing the distance and put my head under his head, so his was resting in mine. He inhaled my scent and froze. All of a sudden he got stiff and whimpered. He backed away from me, his ears were down and his tail was tucked in between his legs. He looked hurt and sorry? I tilted my head to the side not understanding what I've done. But before I had the chance to walk over to him, he turned around and ran. He ran so fast he was just a blur. I whimpered noticing he didn't even turn back...
