Chapter eight

Bethany's wolf aka Phoenix above^^^

Bethany's POV

I stood there looking at him run away until I couldn't see him anymore. I couldn't move.I couldn't feel anything but pain. I whimpered and dropped to the floor. "He..he..needed to go take care of something.. yea that's what happened he had to go he didn't do it on purpose." Phoenix said to me but it seemed like she was trying to convince herself more than me. "He..didn't even turn around.." I said trying to get up. I started running towards home but kept crashing into the trees because my eyes where blurry and I couldn't see anything. I stopped at the river and drank water but it wasn't helping the pain. I felt drops on my snout that weren't my own tears. I looked up and it had began to rain. It was a full moon, a beautiful moon. Not as beautiful as him though... I looked at the moon and howled a low sad howl. I started running again but I couldn't help crying. I was almost home when I made a sharp turn deciding to go back the the meadow when I crashed into a tree knocking myself out. All I remember is Phoenix telling me, watch where your going ass face, before blacking out.

Kevin's POV.

I was running patrol around the territory. It was my job, I was the son of the Beta. I was about to go home because my shift was done when the corner of my eye I saw something on the floor. I walked over to it and realized it was a beautiful white wolf. I took in her scent and realized it was Beth. My best friend was laying on the floor unconscious. I started panicking my Bethany was unconscious, she was my best friend but I loved her and no one would change that. "You have to take her home Kevin." Seth told me,my wolf. "Alright" I told Seth as I nudged Beth. She quickly got up and attacked me. "Hey, hey Beth is me, Kevin." I said as she just looked at me and then licked me. She got off me and as if she remembered something she whimpered. I went over to her and put my head on hers. "Its getting late we should go now." I said to her and she nodded her head. "Race you." She said and took off running. I ran behind her then passing her. I turned around and she gave me a smirk and jumped on my back.

Bethany's POV

I woke up to a grayish brown wolf in front of me. Although he smelled familiar it was my instinct to attack. The a voice came into my head,"Hey, hey Beth its me, I Kevin."  I once again sniffed and realized it was him. I got so happy to finally show him Phoenix I started licking him. But the I remembered what had happened earlier and whimpered. He moved his head to the side as if he was trying to figure me out but then soon gave up and said it was getting late. I agreed and added that we should race and took off running. As I ran I was starting to realize that when I was with Kevin it was as if all my problems disappear. He was my best friend, but deep down I knew I liked him....
