Chapter Four

Bethany's POV

Its been 2 days since my parents talked to me about shifting. Tomorrow is my birthday which means I'll be shifting today. I was in the woods with Mom, Dad and my younger brother, Carter, he was only smaller than my by 1 year but he looked way older than me. "Beth you look like your about to shit your pants." Carter told me as he laughed at me. "I think I am Carter." I said looking away from him. Carter's laughter just got louder and it was getting me mad. "Carter shut up! This isn't funny! Watch when you have your first shift ima be laughing at you." I said glaring at him. "Well for your information im going to take it like a man. Not a little baby like you Beth." He said standing up straight. "Carter!! Shut up!! Im not a baby! Im just...scared and panicked." I said punching him in the arm. "Enough Carter! Leave your sister alone its perfectly normal for her to be scared. So stop picking on her." Dad said in his Alpha voice. "Yes sir." Carter whimpered. I smirked at him and he flipped me off. I was about to say something when I felt my back burning. I dropped to my knees and started to roll in the ground. "Mom! Dad! Carter, it burns! Help me, it burns!" I screamed as I started to feel hot tears on my face. "Baby its normal it'll be all over soon just let it happen, just don't think about it." I heard mom said. I felt my bones turn and twist. I heard snaps of my bones breaking. "Mom!!!" I screamed once more. "Haha she looks like a little baby walrus rolling around in the ground." Carter said laughing. How can he say that. He doesn't know what im going through. How dare he. With that I felt my nose grow to a snout. My arms became paws. And I felt fur growing and it itched like crazy. All of a sudden I wasn't in control no more. My wolf was. She shook her fur and howled.
"Hi Bethany. Im your wolf Phoenix." She said. "Uhh hi?" I said sorta confused. "I'll explain everything you need to know later. Right now I need to teach you little brother a lesson."  Phoenix said and without letting me answer she growled at my brother and tackled him to the ground. She snarled at him and looked like she was about to attack. She growled one more time, put her face as close as possible then licked his face. The face on Carter was priceless. Phoenix some what started to laugh, well if wolves could laugh. She rolled off and started running around. "Bethany do you want control now?" She asked me as she stopped running. "Umm yes I think so." I said and all of a sudden I felt myself walking. Well stumbling. After I got the hang of it I was all over the place. After like what seemed forever of me chasing my tail I plopped my self on the ground. "Here princess go shift and come back." Dad said putting some clothes in my mouth. I went over to the a bush and tried shifting but I couldn't. I whimpered and heard mom chuckle and walk over to me. She petted my head and started smiling at me. "Baby just think of yourself in human form." She said as I did what she said. All of a sudden I was on the ground naked. I quickly changed and walked over to my parents and Carter. "Dad you were right. It did hurt like hell. Probably the worst pain I'll ever feel but that's over now." I said putting my hair up. "Yes I told you." Dad said grabbing moms hand and walking in front of Carter and me. I was walking with Carter, but he was keeping his distance. I guess scared. "Who's the baby now." I said and started laughing.
