18- A Purposeful Visit

His Second Memory with Heidi

In an extremely crowded bus, Bogum is standing with his right hand grabbing on the handles. Sometimes, he will look out of the window and enjoy the moving view outside. Soon, the bus stopped due to the red light. His eyes widened as he saw Haylee walking alone on the pedestrian path.

There was a pile of textbooks being embraced in her lap when she did the walking. She looked absentminded, as if she was thinking about something along the way. The green light shone and seized the halt. Bogum jerked his head while his gaze refused to let go off the girl.

Suddenly, a black car with tinted glass shields appeared beside Haylee and three men came out. They grabbed the girl and pushed her into the car forcefully as they pointed a gun at her head. "Shit! Azishi(Uncle), could you please stop the bus now? I have an emergency."

Luckily, the bus stop was not far away. Hence, Bogum managed to get down and seize a taxi. "Follow that black car." pointed Bogum at the car before it disappeared into the car crowds.

"1995?" asks the driver in order to make sure the right car.

"Nei(Yes)." answers Bogum quickly while his tone urged the driver to speed up.

"Haylee! Run!" Bogum's shout was then buried by a deafening gunshot. Haylee's wail echoed in the air when her school uniform turned red. "Andwue(No)!!" Unable to control his rage anymore, Bogum's wings enfolded and feathers are shot towards those enemies like arrows, ending their lives.

Kneeling down by the cold corpse, Bogum shoved Haylee up in his arms while tears rolling off from his eyes. "I swear that we'll meet again after your reincarnation." Then, the blood puddle on the ground turned black and followed by the emerging orange flames, awaiting to engulf and renew the dead soul. "Saranghae, Haylee." After planting a feathery kiss on Haylee's forehead, he threw the girl into the fire and turned away.

Bogum opens his eyes after having his dreams coming to the end. He crawls down the bed lazily and heads towards his massive bookshelf, searching for anything memorable like photographs or even photobooks. "I think it's this one." He murmurs while taking out a cute photobook.

It's indeed a thick photobook, but there are only two photographs inside. One is taken by Heidi, or Haylee during her prelife whilst the other is secretly kept by Bogum himself.
