Chapter 62: Er Visits, and a major announcement

Kris parks at in the parking lot of the ER and helps Liz inside. They immediately take her back to be seen.

"Female 8 weeks pregnant complaining of cramps." Nurse says to the doctor.

"Get her hooked to a fetal monitor and get Ultrasound in here Stat for a sonogram." The doctor says.

"God Kris I am so scared." Liz says tears rolling down her face.

"I know I am too. It will be okay just calm down." Kris says brushing the hair out of her face wiping the tears from her eyes.

He felt so guilty that he hadn't been there much for anything this time. And now they might loose another baby. Despite the cicumstances he didn't know if he could handle loosing another baby.

The nurse hooks Liz up to the fetal monitor and soon the room is filled with a light steady heartbeat.

"That is good isn't it?" Kris asks the nurse.

"Yes it is. WIth her being only 8 weeks along a light heartbeat is good as the heart is getting stronger as well as the baby." The nurse says.

That was when they wheeled the ultra sound machine into the room.

"Going to do a ultra sound and check out the baby." The tech says.

He puts gel on the wand. Liz lifts her shirt and he slowly moves it along her belly which was just starting to form.

The screen was filled with an image.

"Wow look Kris it's our baby." Liz says.

"I know . IS he or she okay?" Kris asks worried.

"Looks to be just fine. Growing normally. Would you like to know what it is. I mean we can't be certain for sure until she's another 8 weeks along, however from what I am seeing it looks like it might be a girl. " The tech says.

He then prints a copy of the sonogram for both Liz and Kris.

"Wow."" Kris says.

He was relieved that the baby was okay.

"We are going to keep you overnight just for observation giving your history." The doctor says.

"Okay." Liz says.

"How are the cramps now?" The doctor says.

"Almost gone." Liz says.

"Good." The doctor says.

The nurse hooked Liz to a IV with fluids she was a little dehydrated but nothing serious.

"Will you stay with me?" Liz asks Kris.

"I will stay until they get you settled into a room okay. But then I have to go." Kris says.

"Kris please stay with me. I am scared." Liz says.

"I know but everything is fine. They are just keeping you as precaution." Kris says.

"I know but I am still scared." Liz says.

"It will be fine Liz. I have to go home. Our son needs me home." Kris says.

"Fine." Liz says.

They take Liz up to her room and Kris helps the nurse get her setteled into bed.

"I promise that I will be more invovled with the rest of the pregnancy as much as I can be okay Liz. That is all I can give you." Kris says kissing her head as he covers her with a blanket.

"I guess I will take what I can get. " Liz says.

"Yeah. Let me know when the next appointment is and please get some rest." Kris says.

"I will. Thanks for being here for me when we needed it most. " Liz says rubbing her belly.

"Anytime. "Kris says as he leaves the room.

He calls a uber and heads home.

Madison tried to put Micah to bed but with him being so upset he didn't want no parts of it. However, Sid was able to get him to get bath and into his pj's. Sid was laying with his head resting in Nadia's lap and Micah was laying on Sid's chest.

"Did he finally fall asleep?" Madison asks Sid.

She was laying on the other couch with her feel propped up.

"Yes he did but I have a feeling if I move him he will wake and spaz out." Sid says.

"Yeah I know as long as he is sleeping he is fine." Madison says.

That was when Kris walked into the door quietly and into the game room without waking Micah.

"Is Liz okay?" Sid asks Kris.

"Yeah everything is fine. " Kris says.

"That is good. Just so you know you can sleep down here tonight Kristopher." Madison says.

"What did I do?" Kris asks.

"Its not what you did it's what you didn't do." Madison says as Kris sits on couch lifting her feet up putting them in his lap.

"Well what didn't I do?" Kris asks as he starts to give her a foot rub.

"You didn't defend me when Liz said I wasn't a real doctor." Madison says.

"I am sorry baby but you know that isn't true. You are a wonderful doctor." Kris says.

"God baby that feels good. MY feet is hurting." Madison says.

"Good relax and let me make it up to you but giving you the best damn foot rub ever." Kris says.

"You know I could have examined her. I am an OBGYN and I would have been able to tell you the cramps was just a ploy. I have seen it multiple times in my career." Nadia says.

"Oh rats I wish I would have thought of that." Madison says.

"You guys really think she was faking it?" Kris asks.

"Yeah." Sid says.

"I hope not but I guess anything is possible." Kris says.

"With Liz yes anything is possible. I mean look she was pissed you took Micah away so then she gets cramps knowing you would feel bad especially with her history." Nadia says.

"Exactly." Madison says.

"Yeah I guess but the good thing about is I got to see the baby. They think its a girl but won't know for sure for another 8 weeks." Kris says showing them the sonogram.

"I am happy for you baby. And yes I truly mean that." Madison says.

"I know and I love you for that." Kris says.

"Speaking of babies. I have an announcement to make." Nadia says.

"What?" Madison asks.

"I think I might be pregnant. I know it's only been a few days since your wedding but something just feels different. Besides I was supposed to get my period today and it hasn't come." Nadia says.

"Wow baby that is awesome. I hope you are." Sid says.

"Really?" Nadia says.

"Yes Really." Sid says.

"I am happy for you. And as and OBGYN I think you would know your body so if you think you are then you probably are." Madison says.

"Congrats guys. You guys will be great parents." Kris says.

"Thanks. Now how long do I have to stay up this time?" Sid asks Madison.

"12 hours." Madison says.

"Okay." Sid says.

Madison turns on the TV and they watch movies to keep themselves and Sid awake for the 12 hours.
