Reagan continued to stare into the distance. She remebered what Grainger said.
"I hate you!"
His words haunted her. Reagan looked down to her feet and tears rolled like waves hitting the ground like a splash of rain. Rain from the thunderclouds that hovered over Reagan. That is when she remebered Sofia.
"The twins." She whispered. She turned, racing back up the stairs. She had to get the twins before it was too late. She longed for her brother. She wanted, needed her life back. She could feel a lump forming in the back of her throat. She wasn't a doctor! What was she thinking?! What would happen if she couldn't save the twins, let alone Sofia. Reagan continued to race up the stair. She sprang into action, bending down to Sofia's cold body. She reached down to take her pulse. It was slowing down but there was still time to save her. Reagan flew around, she had no clue what she was doing. Even though Grainger was gone, his words still clouded Reagan's judgement and tormented her. Reagan might not have been a doctor, but Luka mad medical training. Swiftly, she went to Luka.
"This might hurt." she exclaimed to herself. She thrust her hand forward, slapping Luka across the face.
"Ouch!" he yelped as he sat up.
"Luka! Hurry, we have to save Sofia and the twins!" Reagan yelled.
"Crap! Where is Grainger?" Luka shouted back to Sofia as he got up and jogged over to Sofia.
"I chased after him but he got away in an escape pod. He couldn't have gone far though, I gave him a blaster wound to the side." Reagan stated semi-proud.
"Uh huh. We need to hurry and land this ship on Albea point if there is any chance in saving the twins. Sofia is a gonner." Luka sighed.
"Got it. I'll pilot." Reagan gasped at the news.
"Well that would certainly be helpful!" Luka sneered.
Reagan glared at him but proceded to the cockpit and swithcehd off autopilot. She took a deep breath, trying to rid her mind of Grainger and Sofia and all the trouble in her life. Flying wasn't an easy job and Reagan had only done it once or twice. It was going to be especicialy hard because they are coming in at a low altitide and increasing speed by the minute. One mistake would be fatal to everyone on the ship. If she flew too low, they would crash. If she flew too high, they would miss the landing site and fly over the planet. Reagan sat back and began to pull up. Luka watched out the front window with one hand on Sofia. He shook his head. They weren't going to make it.
"Reagan! Pull up! We are going to crash!" Luka screamed.
"I'm trying! This is hard as I can pull up!" Reagan replied in a high pitched shriek. She fell forwards as the ship went into a full on nose dive. Reagan let go and watched the planet grow closer and closer.
"What are you doing! That's suicide! You aren't even trying to pull up!" Luka shouted. It was all or nothing. Reagan ignorred Luka, she turned off all four engines and watched out the side window as the ship started to decend. The ship was slowing down but they where still doing a nose dive right into a planet full of dust.
"Reagan! Reagan!" Luka continued.
"Shut up, Luka! I know what I'm doing!" Reagan snapped. Luka's constant interjections and tips where getting annoying. Fire sprung from the sides of the flame as they entered Albea Point's atmosphere. Still in a nose dive, the ship got so close to the planet that structures where coming into view. Reagan took one last look and pulled up as hard as she could. Malice's body slid past Luka and hit the wall on the other end of the plane as the plane straightened itself. The where coming hot. The building became bigger than the shilp was and the landed pad came into sight. Reagan flipped a few more switches and landed the plane perfectly. She jumped from the chair, running to the landing pad watchmen.
"We need help! We have three injured onboard!" Reagan explained. The watchnmen nodded and pressed a button on his watch. A few seconds later, a team of medicl robots rushed onto the ship. Reagan didn't want to watch Sofia, Malice, and Mackenzie be carried away on stretchers. Reagan waited inside the hospital that was down the road. It was cold and made Reagan shiver. Just the thought of Sofia dying would shake her to her core. Outside of the emergancy room, Luka and Reagan sharred a dark red bench. The walls where painted a pure white and pictures of lost patients crowded the wall. It was depressing.
"See all those pictures, those are people that they couldn't save. They are hung on that wall like a trophy." Reagan stammered. Luka turned to her. He was on the brink of crying but still holding it together. Reagan was too mad to cry. She wasn't sad, she was torn appart. She wasn't hurt, she was damaged. She wasn't scared, she was terrified. She wasn't mad, she was furious. Emotions swirled like a never ending storm in Reagan's head. All of the sudden, a gentle creak broke the silence. Reagan jumped from the bench. A robot holding a clipboard met Reagan infront of Sofia's door. Reagan's eyeswidened. She gasped, looking into the room. On the bed, there was a white blanket covering a body.
"Are.... the....twins..." Reagan cried. She couldn't beleive it. Sofia was lost to Grainger's rage and hate.
Luka stumbled over to Reagan. He knew what was going on. He fell to his knees beside Reagan. Luka was shaking, his crys drowned out the screams of the babies.
"The twins are alive and healthy. Sofia on the other hand, there was nothing wrong with her other than a lack of oxygen. She shouldn't have died. We ran several tests and they all came back negative. She wasn't hurt, or sick, but she didn't pull threw. Are you going to take the children?" The medical droid asked as the other droid brough two babies wrapped in blue blanets to Reagan.
"Yes..." Reagan cried reaching out to take the twins. She held one in each arm and looked at them. Both had bright blue eyes and white blonde hair. They looked nothing like Sofia or Grainger.
"If... the test all came back negative, then why is she dead?" Luka sniffled, rising and looking to the twins.
"For reasons we can't explain, she died. I am sorry. What are the names of the children?" The robot asked, pulling out a pen to the clipboard.
Luka and Reagan locked eyes, Sofia was murdured and they both knew it.
"This one is named Ben," she started, guestering to the baby on the left.
"and I think this one's name should be..... Arsen." Reagan stated.
"Arsen? That's a different name. Who is the father and what is the last name?" The robot asked.
"The father is Grainger and the last name is Cross." Reagan answered. She struggled to say his name.
"In what relation are you to the twins?" The droid continued.
"I am the aunt to the twins. Luka is their uncle. Malice Turner is their grandmother, the grandfather is dead. Mackenzie Cross is the other aunt." Reagan snapped. It bothered her to talk about her family.
"Oh and one last thing, both twins tested positive for the Kracht. They are the stongest I have ever seen. I recomend seperating them." The robot remarked.
"Yeah that's a common theme in this family. Grow up alone and never meet your family till acciddenlty one day you discover you have an identical twin and then they turn to the dark side. Then your mother is framed and planets get blown up by your evil twin brother..." Reagan carried on.
"That's enough. Everyone knows that twins are to be seperated." Luka intervined. Reagan hissed at him and walked away, her boots clicking on the floor as she went down the hall.
