Mya's POV

**************************************************

I had so much homework, and the week just started. My chemistry class was going to be a problem. I didn't even know what country my professor came from, but I couldn't understand a word he said.

Tomorrow was the protest, and I was getting cold feet. I didn't even tell Kelly about it. My nerves were getting the better of me and now of all days I wished I actually drank. It was still midday so I might as well get some sun.

This August whether was getting to me. I decided that I'll a smoothies at one of the shops on campus, and do some of my homework outside.

"E-Excuse me-e," I looked up from my drink to see a chubby asian guy with glasses. He seemed really nervous, "You are in my chemistry class...I just wanted to say hey," he had a very dorky persona.

"Hey, I never seen you in there, nice to meet you I'm Mya," I smiled at him and extended my hand. His face grew red and when he shook my hand, I felt the wetness from sweating. He must have worked up a lot of courage to come and talk to me. Thats kind of cute.

"I'm Alex... I'm sorry, I'm not use to talking to people.. my mom said I should make friends... Uh... I shouldn't have said that, I sound desperate...not that your a last resort or anything...OH GOD!" He was talking a mile a minute at this point. I tried to hold in my laughter at this point, "I'm just gonna go-" he turned to retreat back to where he came from.

"Wait! don't go, you seem... cool maybe we could study together sometime if thats ok with you," Alex face lit up. He immediately took out his phone and gave me his number without any hesitation.

"Thats great...I thought you'd say no because you're friends with the Carters," I looked at him straight in the eyes.

"Are they really that bad? The Carters"

"Yeah...from what I heard... I'm just surprised that you actually talk to them," he was talking slowly trying not to offend me.

"Because I'm black right." I already knew the answer to that one.

"Well yeah and because I heard that, Ryan Carter is planning something against the BSU." He was? I should have figured as much?

"Why is he? His dad always have protesters at his events, he doesn't need to get involved directly." I was getting pissed at this point.

"I don't know I figured you'd know why... the way that he stares at you and all... not that I'm staring too-" I put my hands up. Whats up with all the guys at this school?

"Listen Alex, thanks for telling me. And just to let you know me and Ryan aren't friends, and Kelly is nothing like the rest of her family... so stop grouping her in with them. Got it?" I said with a bite in my tone. He shook his head in agreement, not wanting to protest.

"I'll see you around," I turned on my heels, not even waiting for a response.

"Kelly I need to tell you something..." Kelly was listening to Beyonce', trying to hit the notes just like her too. But it sounded like someone was scratching a chalk board. "Kelly!"

"WHAAAT, can't you see me getting into formation, dammit!"

"Girl, shut up" I threw a pillow at her head. "I need to talk to you about something." I put my feet on the ground and was about to spill everything.

"You are protesting with the BSU at my dads speech and my brother is trying to sabotage you guys plan." she said turning around to face me smirking.

"How did you know?" I was surprised. She never brought it up.

"Word travels fast at this school, especially when it involves your roommate and your brother."

"You weren't going to tell me your brother was planning something?" I crossed my arms around my chest.

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"I don't like getting involved in my fathers stuff, and clearly my brother has some sort of infatuation with you... so I kind of wanted to see this thing play out." she simply shrugged her shoulders at me.

"Infatuation?" What is she talking about?

"My brother is always looking at you, he doesn't even act like the same when you are around." That could be because of anything, though. The last time I saw him was like Saturday.

"You're delusional?!"

"No you are." she was laughing, "He's always looking for you, half of my text messages from him, are all about you," she picked up her phone and threw it at me, "Here look."

She's right. "Well if he likes me as much as you think, why doesn't he talk to me?"

"For starters my dad... secondly you wouldn't give him the time of day, and he knows that. So he acts like a child and tries to get at you, by messing with the BSU." Kelly said, matter of factually. And she was right, the stunt he's about to pull, he's lucky if I don't rip his balls off.

"How does he even know I'm in the club?"

"I can't answer that one for you.."

"Well can't you stop him from going through with this at least, I don't need this drama, especially with that Deon guy around."

"I could try but, I think he'd only listen to you," If everything she told me is true, then its best if I handle this.

"Where is he?"

"At the frat house probably...are you really about to go?" Kelly raised her eyebrows, "because if so, I need to pop some popcorn for this." she is a trip.

"Well hurry up, and don't burn this bag please!" I'm going to need some food to calm my nerves down.
