The Prince of the Ocean - The Forbidden Romance

Chapter 4

I was awoken by the bright light . Helios must be very euphoric today because the helios was very luminous , much to my disliking .

My body demanded some rest , due to my long and exhausting travel .So,I decided it won't hurt to sleep for a while . Turns out my abrupt decision did cause me to endure pain , physically not emotionally .  

"Triton ,wake up !", An angry voice screamed  , which resulted in me  falling out of my comfortable bed . A searing pain emerged from my arm and it would take perhaps an hour to heal .

"Ouch , mother you could have woke me up a little more quietly , you would have woken up the whole castle ", I complained though it did not provide the desired effect I had hoped .

"Triton ! The whole palace is already awake except you . You even missed your akratismos ! You must be more punctual , you are the messenger of your father and a messenger must not snore all day . " , She said and left my room ,leaving me with my thoughts .

Mother is usually like this , she just doesn't appreciate the value of sleep . To her punctuality and cleanliness matters . She also has a well maintained garden which she adores . She says Aunt Persephone's Garden is better than hers . Though it was the best I had ever seen .

I don't usually sleep for ungodly hours like I just did but a certain someone has been distracting my thoughts , leaving me unable to sleep .

I got up from the floor and proceeded on doing my other duties .I had to talk with my kinsmen , know their problems and try to resolve them . If not ,  I have to inform my father , who would take the final decision about what was supposed to be done . Also , I was to ensure all the security we had put up is still presence and there are no disturbances in the Ocean.

As soon as I finished them ,I went to meet my best friend , Bruilo .

He is the best buddy anyone could ever have .He makes the ocean a better place to reside in . He usually comes up with the  craziest ideas and my parents usually don't suspect anything .He also makes plans in such a way that we don't get caught by prying eyes .

One day , I want to make him the Commander of the Army . He has the capacity and capability to  lead the merpeople .His unique ideas can help us hide from enemies and attack them . After all , he is the best fighter we ever had . 

I sneaked outside the palace to meet him in our secret location , we usually meet each other every fifth day of the week . Due to his chores and my princely duties , this is the only day we could meet each other without anyone 's knowledge . Our parents won't notice our absence as this is the day they are the most busy .

I hope he arrives there on time , otherwise I would be forced to take such a risk for no purpose .
