Chapter 12

The week had passed on and pretty soon it was time to meet Bruilo again . I have not forgotten his threat , rather I am curious what his ' threat' is . I am pretty sure it isn't as serious as he made it seem . 

 My parents have to some important matters to discuss with Delphin , the king of Dolphins . Usually , they take me along for discussion but they sparred me today as it was a private meeting .

I don't mind at all , in fact I am glad they didn't take me long . Otherwise , I won't be able to meet Bruilo . I passed through the secret passage once again , recollecting old memories along the way . 

I unintentionally hit the wall and it revealed it's way to a secret passage .

A passage below a passage , how could thinks get even more complicated down here . I ventured  through it and found out , I can view our meeting room from here .

What I saw next bewildered me beyond my expectations . Bruilo was present but he was not alone . Looks like he brought two unexpected guests into our secret location .  The fact that shocked me the most was they were of our opposite gender . 

One of the mermaid was none other than the fair maiden .

First of all , how did he even persuade her to come here in the first place and second , who is the mermaid with him . I have known Bruilo for such a long time and I am astonished that he actually convinced a mermaid and the fair maiden to come to our hideout .

" Bruilo " , The mermaid began ," You haven't completely told me the reason for bringing me to this unknown location and why did you want to bring Callista along ? "

Callista ,meaning ' the most beautiful ' . So that is the fair maiden's name , such a pity I haven't heard it from her but instead another mermaid who knows Callista and Bruilo . I am very curious to know who she is .

" Be patient Naiyah , I wanted you to meet my closest friend . You must already know him , in fact the whole kingdom does . "

I have heard her name before , if I recall correctly ,  he mentioned that he was visiting her and therefore couldn't attend our weekly meeting . I was too busy thinking how I would reach The Deep End to notice his reason for not arriving that week's meeting .

" Let me guess " , She thought for few minutes and gave up . "Who is it , I have never seen your closest friend roaming with you everyday . "

" Oh , we do roam around , last time we roamed around , as I said before we met Callista . "

Naiyah thought for a while , " Why would you roam in untimely hours with him , there must be a reason behind it ." 

Bruilo smirked ," He is very busy during the day , his duties are a lot but during this day in the week his schedule is a bit relaxed . He is also free in the night and it won't bring a lot of merpeople suspecting us . "

" You sound like you and your friend are committing crimes , are you ?" , She looked at him quizzically .

" Of course not , if other merpeople see him , he may get in trouble with his parents .That's why his identity is hidden, when he travels with me ."

'Not Anymore' , I thought and decided to meet Bruilio and his friends . It's about time he told me what was going on .
