The Prince of the Ocean - The Forbidden Romance

Chapter 14

Callista and I glanced at each other. We are not certain how we were supposed to reply to them though they knew half the truth . We couldn't tell a white lie as it would create more complications in the future .

"  It's is true , we have met before . I found the prince slouching against some weeds and it was very dangerous to be out in the Deep End . So , I took him to my humble dwelling . I was on a lookout , in case any monsters saw us but luckily there was not a creature in sight . The Prince was behind me and we started to strike a conversation but I heard monsters approaching . I informed the Prince to get out of this place at once , he did so though it seemed he had no desire to leave the place . Reluctantly , he left and the monsters retreated . "

As Callista explained the story , I was mentally relaxed as I didn't have to tell my side of the story . Yet Bruilo questioned my presence in the Deep End , due to the fact he knew I wasn't permitted to go .

" I was exploring , Bruilo " , I said . I might looked calm and composed but inside was a wild hurricane of emotions brewing inside me .  I myself was not aware what my exact emotion I was experiencing  .

" Quite believable , your Majesty " , Naiyah said . Finally , she doesn't suspect me anymore .

There was an unsettling silence , all of us were standing around having no clue what we were supposed to do .

Bruilo broke of the silence , "Why don't we visit the village , it has been a long time since we went there , right Triton ? "

" Why not Bruilo , it has been 5 years since I visited the village . " 

 Naiyah was confused ,"  Um not to be rude your Majesty , how are we going to hide your tails . It is going to create trouble if we are going undercover . "

Bruilo laughed , " Naiyah , sometimes I think you forget what Triton is . "

I closed my eyes and concentrated , it was of utmost importance for me to pay attention to my ancient chant . I did it only once , but that was 5 years ago . I remembered how I learned it .

When I was still a young lad , I had a passion to roam around and once I eavesdropped on my parents and my father was reciting an ancient chant to transform himself . I was young and naive , not noticing the importance of the spell . Just 5 years ago , Bruilo suggested we visit a village . I had visited villages before but as a prince not a commoner .   Bruilo said whether I knew any transformation spells , this memory resurfaced and I began reciting the ancient chant . 

Now , the water swirled around me and I remembered how astonished I was when it first happened . I never knew how it felt to be normal and have one tail again . My Father and Mother both have one tail but I was born with two . Perhaps because My Father was born with no tail but two legs , I have inherited the same except I didn't have legs but tails instead .

Naiyah and Callista gaped at me , "Your tails .. Tail  . "

" I am a God , even though I am still a Minor God . A God , nevertheless . "
