The Prince of the Ocean - The Forbidden Romance

Chapter 1

I should have listened to my parent's warnings .

Curse my curiosity for landing me in this grave situation . If I had obeyed my parents , my emotions wouldn't keep me distracted and I would at least be able to perform my duties right and in an orderly manner .

I must control myself like I can control the oceans but it's like saying a God to stay out of his domain forever , which is nearly impossible .

As a Prince , I must follow the rules no matter what but I was always a rebel at heart . I have often heard I earned that trait from my father , Poseidon .

Before we go on with my dreadful tale , I believe it is necessary for me to introduce myself .

My name is Triton , The Son of Lord Poseidon and Lady Amphitrite . I am the Heir to my father's domain , The Infinite oceans . I am also the Grandchild of the Titans Rhea, Kronos , Nereus and Doris .

And I have landed myself in Danger . The most menace and cruel situation a God can land in .

Love .

It is widely known as the emotion every God wants to feel yet feared by them at the same time.

Yes , I have developed feelings for a mermaid who lives in The Deep End . It was the exact place my parents have warned me not to go . I always thought they forbid me because there were enemies lurking down below but that was not what I had discovered . Perhaps the Fates have warned my parents not to let me venture there .

Alas , It was no use . Now her image is imprinted in my memory , I can concentrate no more.

Her eyes glistened like the aquamarines extracted from the depths of the richest oceans .Her chestnut hair flowed down gracefully adorning her features .She had the most mesmerizing smile on her pink rosy lips .Her tail had a beautiful shade of lavender and her scales reflected the light into streams of beautiful colors .

I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not notice a guard appear in my room , perhaps he had come to summon me .

" My Lord, the King was worried about your sudden disappearance and has requested you to meet him at once ".

"Tell his majesty that I will come and meet him in a matter of few minutes "

"Yes my Lord " .The guard left swiftly as he came .

I cannot confess to father about my new profound feelings .I have forbidden myself to disclose this information from everyone but myself . It is difficult sorting out my feelings to my father , especially on these issues . He is known to be free and out-going when he is not busy with his duties , but he had ordered me specifically not to go there unless it was under extreme circumstances . I had disobeyed him but my heart was irrational . I couldn't do anything .

I swam across the endless row of guards and proceeded into the throne room. There were plenty of guards for maximum security . Father doesn't take security lightly . He ensures only the best of the best  looked after the security of the castle.

He was sitting on his magnificent throne made of only the finest minerals found across the seven seas . He is very proud about it as he had crafted it himself . He got up and swam towards me, his body sagged in relief,  "Triton , where were you ? I got so worried , I was about to send the entire army to search for you !"

" I am sorry father , I shouldn't have left like that without your permission , I went to meet a friend of mine . It was for helping him out with a problem ."

" Alright Triton, but next time please inform me if you are going to taking longer trips somewhere . I was truly worried whether something had happened to you . "

" I understand father , I shall make it a note to inform you at the earnest . "

I had to tell a white lie , I had no choice . I have disobeyed him and he would be deeply upset with me ought he knew what had transpired .Nevertheless ,  I did intend on meeting my friend but the depths of the sea called me .
