The Prince of the Ocean - The Forbidden Romance

Chapter 8

The secret passage lead us straight to the Deep End . Though I have never encountered this passage before . 

Maybe I was to busy to even notice it , but that seems very unlikely . The Passage was in my own room but I didn't know at all . Perhaps the door was enchanted and only opens at night .

Yes , that seems like a logical reasoning , otherwise the servants would have informed me about it .

"Triton , stop . I think there are intruders here ," My best friend wouldn't be wrong , his instincts have often saved us from danger .We hid behind a bunch of seaweed to disguise ourselves from our possible threatening intruders .

I could not recognize them at all , I had no clue who they were but I knew one thing . They were up to no good .

They were merman but some features of them seemed very mysterious to me .

They had long talons and their tails seemed a bit out of place . I noticed closely and  realized they were not mermen at all but what seems to be another creature in disguise . The shadows have hidden their facial features pretty well and making it seem like a silhouette . 

Then it hit me , I heard about them somewhere , a distant memory returned and flashed right before my eyes .

A Guard had informed me that mermaids were going missing . They were dragged into an unknown place and never found again .

The creatures must have an upper hand at performing spells because even after three years , their location has still not been located , despite the increased security everywhere . My Father and I have tried schemes over schemes to track them but unfortunately they out smarted us .  Not this time , I got enough information from other merpeople about their appearances and I wasn't going to let the maiden whom I love , taken away from me .

Wait love ? 

Though I had met the maiden and she truly stole my heart , I couldn't talk to her properly .

Concentrate , Triton . You can later decide if you love her or not . But now it's time to perform your duty .

My conscious was right , I must focus on the duty . I can sort out my feelings later , after all it's for her own safety .

"So what's the plan , Triton ? Direct attack or schemed strategy ," Brulio took out his celestial bronze spears , which is enchanted to return . Also he carried a small dagger made of enchanted iron for close combats .

" I think schemed strategy would work as we don't want to startle them and get captured . Maybe we can warn the owner of the house secretly before its too late ."

One way or another ,I will save you.

Even if it means sacrificing my own life .
