The Prince of the Ocean - The Forbidden Romance

Chapter 20

Before we came out of the passage , I chanted the ancient spell to make my tail whole again . I was again under the same disguise as yesterday . Since Father's warning , I wanted to be undercover . I don't want Callista to get into trouble because of me .

" So Callista , how are we going to go from here ? "

She didn't reply but instead linked her gentle hands through mine and I could feel the heat rising up my cheek . Fortunately , she was swimming fast to even notice my face . She took me through many currents and I wiled them to flow even faster . 

Suddenly after minutes of silence , Callista said ," Close your eyes . "

That bewildered me ," What is the reason for your strange request ? "

Callista turned back to face me , I could see the mirth hidden in her eyes ," If you trust me , close your eyes ."

I closed my eyes , letting the darkness enter my eyes . I gripped her hand tighter and said ," I trust you . " 

I didn't have the slightest clue which direction we were going . All I knew was I trusted Callista more than anyone in my life .

We had finally stopped and the surroundings seemed very different . I could smell the plants and to my surprise I couldn't identify them . They were definitely unique as I always knew all the types of plants but their scent was indistinguishable.

' Just like Callista is unique from other mermaids ', Tiny said . 

I couldn't argue with Tiny as I knew whatever he said was absolutely right  but absorbing the fact that he brought up this topic is beyond my wildest imaginations .

I know Callista is beyond beautiful , the way her lustrous chestnut hair flows down her back and how her aquamarine eyes, mirroring her emotions, always enticed me.Then there is the sweetness of her voice, which can put the sound of any siren to shame, her incredible ability to fight monsters and her radiant smile which brightens up anyone's day .

My daydream was interrupted by none other than Tiny ,' Wooh , there lover boy . I know you like her , why don't you just admit it to her ? '

Tiny was right but I must wait for the perfect moment to confess my true feelings . Callista said softly , her breath tingling against my skin ," You can open your eyes now , Prince . We are safe here . "

I opened my eyes and I was astonished . The scenery was beyond perfect , it's a wonder no one had found out this place yet .

I came face to face with Callista , she was absolutely gorgeous . She had a beautiful piece of purple coral in her hair . She seemed to notice it and said ," Sorry , I think must have been caught in my hair . "

She was about to pull it out of her hair but I stopped her ,"  Don't  . I think it suits you a lot . "

She blushed ," Thanks you Prince . "

" So, what shall we do , Callista . We are finally here and hopefully we don't get any interruptions like last time . "

She laughed and her voice was absolutely divine , " I don't think they will come . I threatened Naiyah if she follows me again , I would empty her secret pile of seaweed cake . "

" That is absolutely the worse threat I have ever heard , considering how much Naiyah loves her seaweed cakes . "

She smiled  ," Not as much as Bruilo love his Seaweed Loukoumades  . "

I recalled how much greedy they were over their favorite food and refused to share anything with us . We pleaded them to share but they didn't listen to us and finished everything . 

The rest of the day went by as we talked and laughed together . I hoped this day won't end but sadly we had to go back .

She lead me back to the passage through a shortcut we found .  Before I made my way towards my chamber ,Callista and I hugged each other . I didn't want to let her go instead I wanted to hold her tight in my arms forever . But it was time for her to return home . 

She promised me that we would meet each other again and I promised next time , I would come to her home and we would spend our time there . At first , she didn't want me to arrive there but after constant reassurance she agreed . 

I really look forward to visit her really soon .
