This is an emotional chapter, we get a look into Max's past and find out just who Jordan is if you haven't already guessed. Don't worry I didn't get too descriptive, but read at your own risk. Enjoy! Love Kitty!

Overload 9-Flashback

“Hey Maximum!” Trent the high school bully yelled after me, I ignored him and picked up my pace. Jordan had said to ignore them so that is what I intended to do. He had a point I, a seventh grader, wouldn’t stand a chance against these guys so I heeded his advice. “Where’s that faggot Jordan? Did you leave him at home today?” Despite my sudden anger I kept walking as Trent and his goons followed me. One of them reached out grabbing my shoulder.

                “In a hurry are we?” Trent sneered and I could smell the alcohol on his breath.

                “Leave me alone you asshole!” I yelled trying to turn around and walk away.

“Oh you wanna talk like a man? Huh? You little punk! Then prove you’re a man!” I wrestled with Trent as he forced his lips onto my neck. What the hell? One of his buddies began unbuttoning my button down shirt for him. I was struggling against him but it didn’t even faze Trent. He had so much weight on me that it wasn’t even funny, and it was all muscle. They drug me into an adjacent alley while Trent manhandled me. His buddies held my hands above my head as he bit into my neck. Oh God he’s a vampire! Damn, not that lucky, it couldn’t be over just like that. They took the rest of my clothes off and took turns doing unimaginably horrible things to me. The entire time I was wishing that I had Jordan here, knowing that he would never have let this happen. They hit me, kicked me, and slapped me to the point that I no longer even had the power to continue my feeble attempt at resistance.

Finally it seemed as if they were done, as they were leaving it seemed that one of them decided that it would be appropriate to break an empty beer bottle over my head. So that’s exactly what he did. They left me there in the alley to die as the sky turned black with night and the clouds opened up pouring rain. I managed to wrestle my phone from my jeans and hit the number 2 which was the speed dial for Jordan. Ring. Ring. Ring.

“Hello?” Jordan panted into the phone. I tried to form coherent thoughts but unconsciousness threatened to take me already. “Max, this isn’t funny.” He then made a noise that sounded like a moan and I realized that he must be with his boyfriend Tanner.”I’m hanging up!”

“No,” I barely whispered and thank goodness he heard me. “Help me Jordan…scared…cold…so cold…” I mumbled, unable to form a decent sentence.

“Max? What’s going on? You’re freaking me out!”

“Alley, dark….cold….pain, so much pain…” I winced as the pain in my head surged forward nearly causing me to drop the phone.

“Are you hurt?” He was really concerned.

“Hurt….me….yeah….I’m really tired…”

“Where are you?”

“Alley….grocery….store….home…not…”

“I’m having trouble understanding you buddy, what happened?”

“Trent….”

“What did he do?” He was suddenly angry and I was having trouble thinking again. “Maximum! Can you hear me?”

“Ya…”

“What did he do to you?”

“Him….friends…me…on top of….pain.”

“What?”

“Him….friends…..him….friends….turns….take….I’m sleepy…”

“Stay with me buddy, what did him and his friends do?” He was screaming into the phone with a fierce urgency.

“Me…..kiss….on top of….” There is a long pause as I think the word and try to remember how to form it with my mouth. “…Rape…” I thought I felt hot tears rolling down my cheeks but I was tired and it was raining so who knew?”

“They didn’t! Damn it! This is my entire fault! Tanner and I are on our way, hang in there buddy please!”

“Not ur fault….I luv u J-Jord-dan….so cold…tired…sleep now…”

“Max! Max! No buddy, you need to stay awake!”

“Trent….com…comin back now…..I-I’m s-scared….I hear them!”

“Step on it Tanner! Max, please stay with me!” His voice breaks.

“U-u-u-u cryin J?”

“I love you Maximum, come on please stay with me!”

“luv..u…too…sleepy…good night Jor-ordan…..” The phone slid from my hand as the cold filled my body with violent tremors. My eyelids were heavy and the black was so inviting.

“MAX! MAXIMUM! Answer me! I love you Max! Do you hear me? I love you more than anything or anyone!” His voice screamed from the phone. I smiled as the pain went away, and I was encompassed in a blanket of black.

“Max! Max! Come on.” I could feel Jordan’s strong arms under me but I couldn’t bring myself to open my eyes. I had no idea how long it had been since I had blacked out. “Come on buddy we’ll get out of here.” His voice was choked with tears as he carried me.”Shit,”

“What are we going to do?” Tanner’s booming voice came from nearby.

“I’ll handle them,” Jordan’s voice came.

“Babe, there are six of them, and one of you.”

“Get him to the hospital, help is on the way, I will be fine.” He assured Tanner.

“I love you both.”                             

“J-Jordan,” I forced the word out with my eyes still closed.”D-don’t” I barely breathed.

“It’ll be okay Max, I love you.” I heard yelling as Tanner stood there with me in his arms. Jordan was obviously very angry with Trent which he had every right to be. I fluttered my eyes open just in time to see Jordan aim a fist at Trent’s face. But Trent stepped into the punch and it never landed. Jordan froze and the knife flashed as Trent pulled it from his chest. My breath caught in my chest as Jordan fell to his knees on the asphalt. I heard the sirens as help arrived, but my eyes only fluttered shut again, the last thing that I saw was Jordan pitch forward onto the ground, unmoving. I knew then that no matter what, my big brother was going to die that night.

In the ambulance the EMTS would have their hands full, as we both stopped breathing at the exact same time...

What do you think? I don't think that I did a very good job at writing this one....Oh well. Hope you liked it.
