"She's your mum?" I ask.

"Yeah, and I really need to talk to her." she sobs, her eyes staring into mine.

"But she said she was my mum."

She stares at me then, her face with an incredibly confused expression. Then looks into the distance, thoughts seeming to whirl though her head.

"What's going on?" I say, interrupting her thinking.

She runs off, her feet hitting the ground in a quick rhythm. I try to follow at her speed, but fail. Placing my hands on my knees, I pant like a dog - breathless. I continue in walk this time, using the imprints of her shoes for direction.

I find her. Her arms are wrapped tightly around a tree, seeming at peace.

A tree - hugger.

Weirdo.

The wind hisses around us, her hair flying in random directions. I don't understand why anybody does this although, I haven't tried.

"Are you okay?" I question.

"Now I am." she turns, surprisingly calm despite the situation, "Let me explain everything."
--------------------------------------
Mother was a strange kind, but incredibly caring. She always wanted to help those who surrounded her, but nobody ever noticed the good she did. She never recieved the respect she deserved.

She was the best mum anyone could wish for. She always watched over me, and made sure I did well.

Then one day she was rushed into hospital and died there. She never told me what happened, but left me a note behind.

She wrote that she wanted revenge, how I wasn't the kind daughter she wanted. She hated that I wasn't there for her, so she'd find a new child.
-----------------
Listening to this story left me shocked. No wonder this girl was upset.

"Don't you see?" she says, staring at me.

"See what?"

"The child she wants is you, and you need to be saved. We need to work together, to be rid of her."

"Didn't you want to speak to her about two minutes ago?"

"Yes. In the hope that this wouldn't happen."

How do I get rid of her?

Stupid, stupid Kacey. Why did you open your third eye? You can't go back now though, you've got a fight to win. That you're inexperienced at. But this girl knows her mum well - right?

"So what do we do?" I say, worried.

"We scare her away, you make yourself her nightmare child." she says, confidently.

"What do I do first?" I ask.

"You be the best child ever to your foster mum."

"How do you know I'm fostered?" I snap, suddenly feeling concerned.

"We will save that, for the next time we meet." she says, then disappears into the distance.

I don't bother to run after her, and I wish I hadn't followed her before.

I'm even more confused now...
