The tiny box stuck firmly to my hands, I wander in the direction of my house. Unlocking the door quietly, I trudge up the stairs towards my room; I refuse to make a creek. I carefully swing the door upon, gently closing it behind me before deeply sighing.
Placing the box onto my "altar" I light a couple of candles beside it, whilst watching a soft flames flicker in the room. The glorious scent of melting wax fills my nose, which I find strangely relaxing.
I close my eyes and concentrate on my breathing. Every time my mind wonders, I bring it back to focus on my nose inhaling the air surrounding me. Which each breath I imagine myself falling into a more tranquil state.
Knock, knock, knock...
Huh?
Where is that sound coming from - I'm fairly sure nobody is home.
"Is anybody there?" I ask.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Who is there?" I shout.
"Who are you?" Says a mysterious voice.
"I'm Kacey. What are you, and what do you want?"
"I should be asking that. You open up my house and demand to know who I am."
"I could say the same to you!"
I'm Erin, and you're obviously too stupid to know what you've done."
Shaking my head, I try to send myself back into reality. My hair slashes my face, creating a sharp stinging in my eyes.
The silence in the room screamed at me, as the box started to shudder. A slight tapping noise echoed through the room. My breathing becoming rapid, I hold the box far away.
"Speak to me child!"
Smashing the box upon the floor - I shriek. Running my shaking hand through my hair; I fall backwards onto my comforting bed.
"I'm still here."
