I couldn't speak. I couldn't get back up. I couldn't even roll away. I was staring at this beast with deep blue fur, humongous legs filled with muscle, and deep purple eyes. He was the size of a mansion, no, a palace! His beady eyes poured into mine, filling me with fear.

"Z-Zebro..." I whispered.

The monster didn't move. He just stared at me, hungrily. I stood up, slowly, gathering my bearings and I backed up against the door.

I didn't know what would happen to me, because there wasn't anyone who made it this far.

The dog-monster perked up its ears when it heard the noise that was just outside. I heard it too. It was the men. I had to get back through to warn them.

I came to a logical conclusion. Since Mike wasn't attacking me, he must be trained to not attack anyone that comes through the stone door. Whoever goes through the wooden door, gets eaten. That's probably why no one came back alive, from the accounts I read.

But what if I went through the wooden door back out? Would he attack me? I had to take the risk. I wouldn't let anyone else die.

I made sure that my hood was pulled up and I slowly made my way to the wooden door. The beast watched me, but didn't move to attack. In fact, he actually laid down. I made my escape out the door and into the throng of people who were my comrades.

Everyone was gathered around Zebro, yelling at him and grabbing at him and shaking him, hurting him. I pushed my way through to Zebro. Just as handlebar-mustache-man was about to punch Zebro, I jumped in and caught his punch. Everyone backed away when they saw me. I glared at them with a terrifying glare.

"Y-You're alive!" exclaimed the Captain. I threw his punch back and helped Zebro up. I couldn't believe anyone would do this to a poor old man like him. I spit at the ground in front of our leader.

"What was that for!?" exclaimed one guy.

"We were only trying to get information for your whereabouts!" said the Captain. I looked at him, then just silently walked Zebro into his little hut. I sat him down, patted his head and smiled, then closed the door on my first encounter with a Zoldyck.

When I walked out, everyone was watching me.

"I thought your ankle was broken," said Captain.

I shook my head, because I didn't know how to answer without speaking. Instead, I went over to the stone door and placed my hands on it. The crew all came over and looked at me curiously.

This was my moment. I dug my feet into the ground. I felt everyone staring at me, including Zebro, from his little hut window. I gave it one huge push and the doors opened wide. They all stared in awe and I motioned for them to get in as the doors started to close. Everyone rushed in and the doors closed just as the final guy swished by.

I looked at what everyone was staring in horror at and saw that it was Mike. Hopefully, my theory is correct. I shoved my way through the horde to the front of the group. The Captain was staring at the beast, scared stiff. I sighed and pulled at his arm. He jumped and looked down at me. I pulled his arm into the forest.

"Wh-What do you think you're doing!?" he exclaimed, but it did the trick. The other men followed slowly behind, all staring at Mike. I grinned to myself and let go of the leader. He was still as he watched me go over to Mike, who was now standing and alert. I stood underneath him and faced the crowd. I saw all 200 eyes looking straight at me and the beast.

I motioned for Mike to bow his head, and surprisingly, he did. I patted his nose and stroked it, careful not to show my outfit, and I looked at the crew the entire time, showing my dominance. I kissed his nose, then climbed up his fur onto the crook of his neck. I'm glad he let me. I was told that I had a way with animals. Mike was no different, basically just a big guard dog.

The men stared in awe at me as I nudged Mike gently to take the lead through the forest.

I could see everything from Mike's neck. Even the Zoldyck mansion. It was so huge! That meant a lot of exploring, and I liked that. On my little perch, I reached the top of the different trees that are spread thickly everywhere. Probably to conceal Mike's presence so he can hunt for his food and stay sharp. I looked down from my great height and saw the exotic flowers. They were so colorful. They were unimaginable, the colors those flowers possessed. I wished I could get a closer look. Maybe if I come back one day, I could.

Suddenly, Mike came to a stop. I looked up and saw that there was another stone door. It looked even heavier than the first. I slid down off of my ride and stood in front of the door.

'How in the world are we gonna get past THIS one!? I'll bet bottom dollar that this is going to be heavier than the last one...' I thought to myself.

Mike grunted behind me. I looked at him. He looked back, then put his two front paws on the door. He started pushing. I stared in awe. 'He's supposed to be a guard dog! Why's he letting people i-' I stopped and reflected on what Zebro told me. He said that he could sense I had a good heart... Could Mike sense it too?

Nevertheless, he was pushing open the door for us! The men have basically been in a state of goldfish-ism. Mouths hanging open, staring straight at the strange creature and what it was doing. They were less afraid, but still amazed nonetheless.

As soon as Mike had the door open wide enough, the men bolted through. I was last. As I walked through, I sent a mental note to Mike, saying thank you. I walked through, turning around in just enough time to see his dark purple eyes glisten, just a little bit.
