By the time I get myself together enough to form a coherent sentence, Harry is nearly done his sandwich.
Excluding the still shocked employee that Harry took a picture with a few minutes ago, we're almost completely alone. Harry Styles has given me the opportunity to ask him anything I want and I'm still sitting here with my mouth nearly on the floor.
"I promise to answer honestly." He continues.
I can't tell what he's thinking, or if he's playing me somehow. I know he probably isn't, but what celebrity wants to be bombarded with questions about themselves from a fan? None other than Harry Styles of course. This boy never ceases to amaze and confuse me.
"What's your favourite colour?" Oh my god Lily if that isn't the lamest thing you've ever said.
"Blue, what's yours?" He answers immediately with that damn smile still plastered to his face. You would think it's molded to him by now. Does he ever frown?
"Mine's actually blue too." I laugh at the one thing we seem to have in common. A damn colour.
"My favourite TV show is Friends if that was your next question." He's already mocking my inability to think on the spot. I should probably care, but I don't. I like when he makes fun of me like this. It's almost... playful?
"I wasn't going to ask that!" I roll my eyes at him and he snickers softly. He likes to mess with me, I can tell. Probably because he knows it'll work.
"What happened with you and Taylor? ... Swift." I'm shocked as the words tumble out of my mouth. Why am I asking him about his famous ex-girlfriend? Oh yeah, because I'm an idiot.
"Well... I guess you could say it just didn't work out. It's funny because the media made such a big deal about it and what not, but when you break up with your boyfriend no one gives a damn except you two, right?" He tries to explain it to me in a way I'd understand.
"No, I get it. I don't know why I asked, I guess I was just curious." I look down at my half-eaten sandwich and take another bite to avoid saying something stupid again.
When I look up Harry is smiling again. At least it didn't bother him too much.
"Don't worry, you don't have to walk around eggshells here. I'm just a person and it doesn't matter what you ask. I did offer that you ask anything. I'm not going to take it back." He tries to reassure me, but I'm still feeling unsure as fuck. His words give me the slight confidence I needed though, and curiosity takes over all common sense.
"What's with you and Kendall? Friends? Not friends? Fuck buddies? Not fuck buddies?" I don't realize that I just said fuck buddies to Harry Styles about him and Kendall Jenner until the words are already out. So much for not looking stupid.
"How did I know that was going to come up somehow." His demeanour changes, only slightly, at the subject change. Did I strike a nerve here?
"We're strictly friends. We did go on a date though and obviously we have been out again, but only as friends. It sounds like bullshit and the media take it way too far but that's the honest truth."
It does sound like the shit celebrities always feed to interviewers. Maybe he's worried I'm going to go off and tell the world everything he's saying. I wouldn't do that, ever. Even though I'm not famous or anything, I would never purposely ruin a celebrity's image. That's just cruel, they have enough shit to deal with if you ask me. It's hard enough to live your life without people in your face. I honestly see where he's coming from. It's why I asked if he was okay in the first place. The very question that got me inside his car. I can't help but smile at the thought.
