Part 3 Chapter 3

It was tense, the group had separated. Clint and Wanda were in hiding, Bucky and Sam were locating the jet, and Steve, Ashlyn, and Scott were walking toward Tony and Natasha. "I was given 72 hours to bring you in and that was 48 hours ago, could you do a pal a favor and make this easy?", Ashlyn spoke, "We can't do that. There is more to this then you know Tony.", Tony looked at her, "Don't you have two kids at home that need their mother?", Ashlyn glared and her eyes lit up, "I am doing this for them. Bucky isn't the only winter soldier, there are 5 more. All of them worse than Bucky, Hydra saw them as a asset, they can take out an entire nation in one night and no one would even know they were there before it was too late.", Tony felt slightly ashamed at his words but didn't stand down. Natasha glanced at Ashlyn and felt the conflict in her grow. Ashlyn would never do anything to endanger her kids, her family. She had no reason to be loyal to Bucky, so she was doing this for her family. A flash of red and blue flew by and Steve's shield was ripped from his arm with a web. "What the hell?", Steve sighed and she shrugged, "Peter Parker, hmm. Tony, you're bringing kids into this?", again Tony looked down but said nothing, "Captain, Phoenix, it's a pleasure to meet you. The landing would have been better but its a new suit, not that I don't appreciate it Mr. Stark.", Ashlyn smiled at the kid, "The pleasure is mine, kid.", she sighed as the kid webbed their hands together, Scott was hiding on Ashlyn's shoulder behind her hair, "Now.", it was a whisper and Scott jumped from her shoulder and landed on the suit, Ashlyn's powers melting the webs off and an arrow flew through the air as Clint released the hold on his bow string and Steve was free. Clint and Wanda walked over and Adam made himself big. "Who else is here?", Ashlyn refused to speak and she turned her head slightly, "Pietro, pleasure.", the silver haired boy looked at the woman who saved him, "Ashlyn.", she nodded, "Rhoodey, I know you're here, so are you your highness." She looked at Tony, "You brought a team to take in your friends?", Tony looked at her, "You brought a team to resist.", she scoffed, "We aren't resisting! We are trying to save the world!", Ashlyn had never raised her voice and she sighed, "Tony, there is something bigger happening. Please. Help us, do not fight us.", Ashlyn's eyes were wide and pleading, but Tony didn't buy it. "Sorry.", she groaned and her powers lit up. It was time to fight, but this time it was against her family.

"Ash, Bucky and Sam, go!", she nodded and ran off, put was cut of by a flash of silver. "Pietro.", he looked at her, "Why are you doing thing?", she sighed, "For the twins, not only mine but for you and your sister. The base was breached, the Winter Soldier brought out, someone is doing this on purpose. I mean to end it before anyone dies.", Pietro sighed and Ashlyn frowned, "I am sorry.", she threw him aside into the plane and she flashed off to be with Bucky and Sam, "Dude you have a metal arm!", Ashlyn spoke up, her powers high and warping around her, "Hey kid, what'd Tony tell you?", the kid looked at Ashlyn, "I am going to fight the Phoenix? Sweet!", she smiled, "I will not fight you child, but I will not let you harm my friends and the world. There is more happening then Tony can see. More than meets the eye.", the kid farrowed his eyebrows behind his mask and she softly smiled, "Sorry.", he tilted his head and was whisked away but Sam's little gadget, Bucky groaning, "I hate you.", Ashlyn laughed, "Come on. Let's go.", they trio ran and started making their way toward the jet, only to be stopped by a yellow laser. Vision was joining the fight. "Go forward.", the two teams ran forward and met with a clash.

Ashlyn was fighting off against Pietro, Bucky with the Black Panter, Steve with Tony, Clint with Nat, Scott with Spiderkid, Wanda with Vision, and Sam with Rhoodey. "We need to get the fliers. Steve, Bucky, you two are going to need to go ahead. The only way to win this is if some of us lose.", Steve looked at her and she sent a nod. "Sam, Wanda focus on the fliers. Don't hurt anyone.", they nodded and she glanced at Pietro, "You're sacrificing yourself.", she nodded, "For the greater good.", Wanda gave a scream and she turned, "Wanda!", she flashed over and held up her right hand to steady a falling object Wanda had been holding. Vision shot a beam and it hit Rhodey. "Rhodey!", she stuck out her left hand and held James in place so he wouldn't fall. She was breaking out a sweat and she heard Natasha fighting against the prince. "Ashlyn, you're straining yourself.", she glanced down but held her concentration, blood dripping from her nose. Tony grabbed James and landed, and Ashlyn glanced at Tony, "I'm sorry.", blood fell from her lips and she fell back, Clint rushing over. Tony's eyes wide. "I need a medic, Ashlyn Barton is down, she saved lives.", Clint held his wife and Spiderman walked over, "Is she okay?", Sam knelt beside her and felt for a pulse, "She over exerted herself." She woke up and smiled, "Everyone is okay? Everyone is safe? Rhodey, Wanda, Spiderkid.", she sat up and coughed, "Lay back down Ash, something is wrong with you.", she smiled, "As long as you are well, I am well.", she held Clint's hand and rand a hand through Wanda's head. "Tony, keep Clint out, please. I will spend my time.", Clint shook his head, "You need medical assistance Ash, you are staying out.", she frowned, "I am not a weakling, nor am I child. I am well.", she leant up and smiled at Rhodey, "I helped you from falling. Thank god.", she held her cross necklace and Tony removed the mask, a carrier landing, "Ashlyn Barton, what the hell do you think you're doing?", she smiled and walked forward, only to stumble and the man catch her as she coughed and blood left her mouth, splattering on her hand, "Medics!", they rushed over and forced her onto a stretcher. "Why the hell was I not made aware of Ashlyn Barton being involved in this Stark?", Clint spoke, "Last minute, but if Asher hadn't of been here four of us would have been crushed by a falling wall and Rhodey would be possibly dead." The man nodded, "Very true.", Vision nodded, "They tell the truth, Ashlyn saved us from possible lives lost.", everyone nodded, "Spiderkid, Ash wants you.", the group nodded and the kid ran to the plane.
