Rain hit the window as we sat inside staring blankly at the TV.

"Ashton hates him you know."

"It's a mutual hate between them."

"Why'd your boyfriend beat up mine?"

"It's his instinct, he's a fighter."

"Chris you can't use that excuse for everything." Kirsten let out a sigh and rolled her head so she was looking at me.

"I can use multiple excuses, now can't I?" I said pulling my feet up to my chest. "And you don't know Luke. You don't know how hard he's had it?"

"Oh really? People go into boxing all the time and-"

"His parents were killed in an accident, Kirsten. They died in front of him practically. If he doesn't do what he does now, I don't know what would happen to him." I stood up and walked over to the window, playing with my sweater sleeves. "You have no idea how much I could tell you."

"Then why don't you Christine? You used to tell me everything and now you're a closed book. What happened to you?"

"This relationship happened Kirst. I haven't been happy since Teddy and-"

"You need to let Teddy go. Christine it's been two years almost. Let him go."

"I did though, didn't I? I fucking held him as he died on the freeway! I'm not gonna just forget the first person I ever loved!" I pulled at my hair and stomped my foot like I was five. "I can't do that. There is still gonna be a place for Teddy Daniels in my heart, in my mind." I dropped my hands to my side.

"Luke means a lot to you huh?"

"You have no idea Kirst." I ran a shaky hand through my hair and sighed again. "The things I could tell you I found out on that vacation though, they would make you think twice about everything."

"You'll tell me one day though right. You promise?"

"I promise you. No more secrets, no more hiding." I turned around to get my car keys and my bag from the table by her front door. "Tell Ash I say hi."

"He misses you, you know. He hasn't seen you at work in a while and he's worried. He thinks Luke has you dead or something."

"You know I'm not dead. Tell him I'll see him soon."

"Okay, be safe out there Christine," she said as I opened her front door and went out into the pouring rain. I ran to my car and got inside, quickly slamming the door and shaking my hair to get rid of the water.

Plugging my phone in, I turned Pandora on to the Fallout Boy station and just listened to music for a few minutes as my windshield wipers got the excess rain droplets off my front and rear view mirrors. I turned around and looked in the back seat, noticing how I had the bottles of beer back there from when we left for the trip. What would it hurt other than my driving? Picking one up, I drank half of it before finishing it off, placing the bottle in the slot it came from.

Driving with a bit of a buzz would be a good thing. When I got home I could turn on the TV, eat left overs that my mom had made and forget about all the drama that has been happening.

Luke POV

"What do you mean about the deal? It's in like three weeks!" Calum yelled as I threw something away.

"I know. But you know what he did? He scheduled me a fight that night. I have to go through with that and into the ring. Cal, I haven't done that before, what am I supposed to do?"

"You go in. You know that if you don't follow up with your contract he will kill you. What ever you do that he doesn't like, he will kill you."

I grunted and sat back on my counter. "I can't believe I was dumb enough to get into this. I had to go and follow in my big brothers footsteps didn't I? Why am I so stupid Cal?" I got up and swiped everything on the counter to the floor.
